Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| World-entry and initial forces | 41 | The race manifests from crimson blood-vitality light. Ordinary witches possess strength comparable to Primordial Spirit cultivators, while Grand Witches range from Great Luo level to near Quasi-Sage strength. |
| Baleful blood-vitality berserk state | 83 | Grand Witches draw in baleful intent and the power of heaven and earth to raise their combat power; Quasi-Sage-level Grand Witches can briefly contend with opponents at or above the Severed Second Corpse level. The method can overwhelm their reason. |
| Twelve Capitals Heavenly Fiendish Formation | 85–86 | The Twelve Ancestral Witches merge their power to manifest Pangu’s phantom and the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe. Its strike bypasses Dao techniques and spirit treasures, severely injures top Quasi-Sages, and kills over a hundred First-Corpse Quasi-Sages. |
| Unified battle intent | 123, 127–128 | The race replaces indiscriminate berserking and self-destruction with collective will. Their shared bloodline, battle cries, and coordinated armies draw down the power of heaven and earth to strengthen each warrior. |
| Heavenly Fiendish Banners | 141 | Dan Jing refines twelve banners from Ancestral Witch essence blood. Every Witch Race member can activate them through bloodline resonance, though weaker users draw out less power. |
| Racial reform and expanded Destiny Aura | 158 | Sustainable resource management, conquest, and more effective governance greatly increase the Witch Race’s population, Grand Witch numbers, resources, and Destiny Aura. |
| Six Paths of Reincarnation and Hou Tu’s Sagehood | 182 | Hou Tu transforms Pangu Divine Hall into the Six Paths of Reincarnation. The Witch Race receives immense Merit and Destiny Aura, while Hou Tu becomes a Sage through Great Dao Origin. |
| Body-tempering cultivation methods | 210 | Hou Tu develops cultivation techniques suited to the Witch Race, removing its dependence on blood food and easing its inherent conflict with other races. |
| “Complete” lineage | 232 | Following Grand Witch Yi’s elevation as the thirteenth Ancestral Witch, Dan Jing declares that the Witch Race can be considered complete. |
Background / History
The Witch Race was anticipated before its birth, when Zhu Jiuyin estimated that the descendants of the Twelve Ancestral Witches would emerge in roughly ten to fifteen kalpas. Di Jiang intended for the coming race to reclaim the Primordial World for Pangu’s descendants. 38
The race formally entered the world from Pangu Divine Hall at the eastern foot of Mount Buzhou. Hundreds of millions upon hundreds of millions of witches appeared across the surrounding lands, immediately recognizing the Twelve Ancestral Witches through bloodline resonance. Di Jiang declared that the Witch Race would honor only Pangu, neither revere the Heavenly Dao nor worship the Sage Realm, and claimed the entire Primordial World as its rightful inheritance. 41
Its early expansion was driven by physical cultivation and immense demand for blood food. As the race marched eastward from Mount Buzhou, its Grand Witches struggled with the administrative burden of conquest, especially because witches did not cultivate Primordial Spirits. Jiufeng assumed temporary command during the Ancestral Witches’ absence and directed the tribes to secure more fertile eastern territory. 68 76
The Witch Race’s first major conflicts established both its ferocity and its vulnerability to reckless escalation. Grand Witches repeatedly fought while disregarding injury or death, at times preparing to self-destruct rather than retreat. The return of the Twelve Ancestral Witches allowed the race to retaliate through the Twelve Capitals Heavenly Fiendish Formation, whose manifestation of Pangu’s phantom forced the assembled Primordial Divine Beings into flight. 83 86
After the First Witch-Demon War, the race controlled the Primordial Land while the Demon Race withdrew to the Heavenly Court and Four Seas Isles. The Twelve Ancestral Witches initially responded with simple directives—hunt blood food, recover, strengthen the race, and prepare for war. 136
Dan Jing’s Gold-Leaf Jade Scrolls transformed the Witch Race’s approach to governance, warfare, resource use, and long-term planning. Under Di Jiang and the Grand Witches, the race replaced indiscriminate extermination with managed “pens” for weaker races, pursued outside expertise, and expanded its control across the Primordial Land. 157 158
Hou Tu’s creation of the Six Paths of Reincarnation marked a decisive shift in the race’s standing. The conversion of Pangu Divine Hall into the Reincarnation Netherworld gave the Witch Race immense Merit and Destiny Aura, while Hou Tu’s Sagehood gave it a Sage-level pillar. 176 182
By the time the restriction against Witch-Demon conflict disappeared, the Witch Race had abandoned its dependence on blood food through body-tempering cultivation methods. Its restraint, political ties, Pangu lineage, and Sage-backed Netherworld led observers to consider it a genuine candidate to rule the Primordial World. 210
Appearance
Witch Race members initially manifest in Innate Dao Bodies, with men described as burly and robust and women as wild and powerfully beautiful. In battle, they can reveal immense Witch True Bodies or Grand Witch True Forms. 41 82
- Every member possesses a physically formidable Witch True Body that is highly resistant to mana and difficult for ordinary spirit treasures to damage. 41
- Grand Witches can manifest true forms ranging from millions to tens of millions of zhang in height. 82 227
- The Twelve Ancestral Witches possess Ancestral Witch True Forms at least hundred-million zhang tall. 109
- Their battles are commonly accompanied by crimson blood vitality, fierce baleful intent, and overwhelming physical pressure. 83 109
Society and Culture
The Witch Race has only three formal levels: Ancestral Witches, Grand Witches, and Lesser Witches. Authority is fundamentally determined by strength; a weaker-ranked witch may challenge a superior if they can defeat—or survive being defeated by—them. 122
This structure makes the race exceptionally fast at mobilization. Orders from the Twelve Ancestral Witches reached all twelve tribes in under a thousand years, and the full force could cross its territory and invade Demon-controlled Eastern Lands within ten thousand further years. 122
Bloodline kinship is the core of Witch identity. Unlike the Demon Race’s coalition of distinct clans, Witch Race members regard one another as genuine family descended from Pangu. Their shared cry of “Witch” can unite their wills and battle intent across entire armies. 107 128
The race initially valued direct force above all else, but its culture changed after receiving Dan Jing’s teachings. Grand Witches became more disciplined administrators, exchanged gifts and resources for technical knowledge, and learned to seek mutually beneficial cooperation with outside cultivators. 158
Abilities & Skills
Flesh Cultivation
The Witch Race cultivates its body alone, rejecting the conventional cultivation of Primordial Spirits and mana. 41
- Witch True Bodies are highly resistant to mana-based attacks. 41
- Ordinary spirit treasures generally cannot break a Witch True Body’s defenses. 41
- The race’s lack of Primordial Spirits historically made complex administration difficult. 76
- Later body-tempering methods allow growth without relying on blood food. 210
Bloodline Resonance
All Witch Race members share Pangu’s bloodline and instinctively recognize the authority of the Twelve Ancestral Witches. 41
- The Ancestral Witches inspire immediate worship and fanatic loyalty among their descendants. 41
- Shared bloodline lets the armies synchronize battle cries, will, and combat coordination. 107 128
- The Heavenly Fiendish Banners are locked to Witch Race bloodlines and cannot be activated by outsiders. 141
Battle Intent and Heaven-and-Earth Empowerment
When united, Witch armies condense an unyielding battle intent that strengthens the whole force and each individual warrior. 123 127
- Collective battle intent draws down boundless essence of heaven and earth. 127
- It enhances Grand Witches on the Quasi-Sage battlefield while suppressing opposing armies. 128
- This coordinated approach is considered superior to drawing in killing intent and self-detonating. 123
Baleful Blood-Vitality Berserk State
Witches may absorb fierce baleful intent and combine it with blood vitality and the power of heaven and earth. 83
- It can sharply increase a Grand Witch’s combat power. 83
- Quasi-Sage-level Grand Witches can briefly exchange blows with stronger opponents after entering this state. 83
- Excessive baleful intent destroys rational judgment and encourages suicidal combat. 83
Twelve Capitals Heavenly Fiendish Formation
The Twelve Ancestral Witches’ supreme formation merges their bodies and auras into a phantom of Pangu the Great. 85
- The phantom wields a manifestation of the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe. 85 86
- Time and Space Great Dao power can freeze the surrounding world and prevent escape. 86
- The axe strike ignores conventional Dao techniques and spirit treasures, including the Taiji Diagram and Pangu Banner. 86
- The formation requires the Twelve Ancestral Witches acting as one; later, opposing forces develop their own version of the formation. 227
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Heavenly Fiendish Banners — Twelve battle banners refined by Dan Jing from Ancestral Witch essence blood and rare heavenly materials. They serve as a permanent, bloodline-locked defensive inheritance for the entire race. 141
- Pangu Divine Hall — The original birthplace and headquarters of the Witch Race beneath Mount Buzhou. Hou Tu later uses it as the foundation for the Six Paths of Reincarnation. 41 182

Relationships
- Twelve Ancestral Witches — Founders, supreme leaders, and bloodline ancestors of the race; Di Jiang serves as chieftain. 41

- Demon Race / Heavenly Court — Principal rival faction. Their wars shape the Calamity Cycle and ultimately establish the division of demons ruling heaven and witches governing earth. 136 227
- Dan Jing — External benefactor, strategist, and unpredictable ally. He refines the Heavenly Fiendish Banners and provides strategic manuals, but later declares that he will no longer assist the Witch Race during the current Calamity Cycle. 141 157
- Myriad races of the Primordial Land — Initially treated as blood food and potential livestock; later managed as controlled populations before body-tempering methods remove the need for blood food. 41 158 210
- Jieyin and Zhunti — Resent the Witch Race for taking long-lived races from the Western Lands, but avoid direct conflict and preserve some bloodlines at Mount Sumeru. 158
Major Arcs
Emergence and Eastern Expansion
The Witch Race enters the Primordial World with an open claim to Pangu’s inheritance and expands eastward from Mount Buzhou. Its food requirements and territorial ambition make conflict with other races inevitable. 41 68 76
Battle for the Primordial Purple Qi
When outsiders fight within Witch territory over the “One Escape” Primordial Purple Qi, Jiufeng leads tens of thousands of Grand Witches to defend the land. The Ancestral Witches return to save their endangered descendants and unleash Pangu’s phantom against the invaders. 82 86
First Witch-Demon War
The Witch Race invades Demon-controlled Eastern Lands, then wages a prolonged battle at the Bank of the East Sea. Its superior cohesion and physical power offset the Demon Race’s numbers and formations, while the devastation awakens the Calamity Cycle Aura. 109 110 128
