Hill gave Old School Striking King a warm smile. "Edna will be delighted when she comes out."

"She'll succeed, right?" A glimmer of moisture seemed to flash through Old School Striking King's large red eyes.

Hill considered for a moment, then said firmly, "Edna is smart. She'll make sure to take out Black Eye first.

"That means she'll be the last one standing."

Old School Striking King's eyes suddenly widened. "When Edna and I talked, she once said Midnight was actually a good person, just not suited to wielding divine authority.

"She also... asked me what was really going on between William and the God of Space-Time."

Hill looked at the priestess, who had abruptly realized something, and seriously suspected that Old School Striking King had told Edna every last detail of Telashir's history.

If Edna even knew about the connection between William and the God of Space-Time... Wait. William hadn't stopped her?

Hill turned to glance at Shar, whose expression was calm.

Shar raised an eyebrow at him. "Anything involving the Undead gets recorded. William has shown me all the recordings."

"What are you two talking around?" Selûne asked, looking back and forth between them.

"William's secrets," Shar replied with a smile. "They have nothing to do with you or Toril."

But could Edna really pull it off?

The Lady of Dark Night watched the giant screen with renewed interest. She had already begun to lose interest... Once events returned to Toril's usual pattern, she could guess the outcome without even watching. What did she care who emerged?

They might be getting along now, but that did not mean they would yield to each other when their interests
