Of course Lathander had noticed Hill's confusion, but he merely chuckled twice and flew straight out of the Mage Tower... Hill would never understand the complicated relationships among Toril's Gods.
He might not have been pure white himself, but he would never understand darkness.
And on Toril, failing to understand the existence of darkness would only result in being swallowed by it.
And Shar was the one waiting within that darkness for everything... Sometimes, there was a reason spiders had such a powerful presence on Toril.
Yet Shar was merely black, not filthy black... Compared to most Gods, Shar was far purer.
Lathander was not particularly surprised that she would be attracted to someone like William, but she did not like Tyr very much.
The Justice Gods of two worlds appeared to stand for justice, but beneath the surface, they were very different.
But Toril was crooked to its core. The fact that it had such a respectable God of justice as Tyr was already quite good.
How could he possibly be worthy of William?
So it was better for Hill to remain as he was, without truly understanding Shar's cryptic nonsense.
Lathander spread his wings and soared.
The beautiful Sun Peacock traced radiant streaks across the sky, which finally condensed into chains of light linking Hill's mountain to Magnet Mountain.
A beautiful, massive rainbow rose above the plants Hill had just planted.
One end rested on Hill's mountainside, while the other reached the summit of Magnet Mountain.
Though the elevations differed, the rainbow was enormous, and the lower half of its far end was deeply embedded in Magnet Mountain's peak, turning it into a rather interesting Rainbow Bridge.
The far side of the bridge was curved enough and short enough, making it more dangerous.
But the end connected to
