Background / History

The Demon Empress remained in seclusion within the deep sea while Ghost Emperor handled the Holy Ghost Church’s external affairs and dealings with other factions. Though nominally the church’s leader, she was absent while Ghost Emperor effectively directed it for years. 14 22

After Ghost Emperor’s death and the collapse of the Holy Ghost Church’s alliances with the Spirit Pagoda and Hall of God of War, she emerged from the sea with her daughter, Lan Fuzi. Her immediate concern was the Dragon King beneath Dragon Valley: the Deep Sea Demonic Whale Clan had long sought to transform into true dragons and surpass Level 100. 22

She initially divided her mission with Lan Fuzi, intending to investigate the Dragon King while keeping a path open for her daughter to make contact independently. She explicitly considered the Dragon Clan’s interests more important than preserving the Holy Ghost Church. 22

At Dragon Valley, she saved Dark Hummingbird from Qiangu Dongfeng’s forces and confronted the Spirit Pagoda with pseudo-god-level pressure. Xiong Jun challenged her soon afterward, cutting her palm with Heaven-Rending Claw and prompting Luo Feng to reward Xiong Jun’s Ancient Behemoth bloodline. 22 23

Lan Fuzi’s subsequent Sub-Dragon Bloodline awakening convinced Gu Yuena that the Demon Empress could be recruited rather than killed. After meeting Gu Yuena and witnessing the Dragon Clan’s God-Hood System, the Demon Empress chose the Dragon God’s side over her former organization. 24 25

She is fiercely protective of Lan Fuzi. She entrusted her daughter with a protective token, reacted immediately when Darkness Bell attacked her, and later left her in the Star Dou Great Forest before returning to confront the Holy Ghost Church. 22 23 25
