A Soul Master’s growth is governed by Soul Power level, Martial Soul compatibility, Soul Rings, physical condition, and—at higher thresholds—spiritual power.

Soul Rings

• Soul Rings are absorbed from defeated Soul Beasts and generally grant one Soul Skill each. 3 9 16
• Ring age strongly affects a Soul Skill’s potential; higher-aged rings provide substantially greater power. 16
• A Soul Master’s physical fitness is positively correlated with the maximum Soul Ring age they can safely absorb, according to Satellite AI’s fusion model. 22
• Ten-Thousand-Year Soul Rings pose an additional spiritual danger: the Soul Beast’s powerful residual soul can destabilize fusion even when the user’s body is strong enough. 22
• Soul Bones can enhance physical strength, spiritual power, Soul Power, and grant additional abilities outside the normal Soul Ring limit. 23

Self-Created Soul Skills

Self-Created Soul Skills are techniques developed through a Soul Master’s own Martial Soul rather than obtained from a Soul Ring.

• They supplement, rather than replace, normal Soul Ring skills. 16
• Their power scales with the user’s Soul Power and does not become obsolete as readily as low-aged Soul Ring skills. 16
• Creating one is difficult and dangerous; failed attempts can cause severe injury or permanently reduce cultivation. 16

Martial Souls and Soul Skills

A Martial Soul is the foundation of a Soul Master’s cultivation and combat style. Martial Souls vary greatly in form and function, from traditional combat types to Tool Martial Souls and unusual mutations.

• A Martial Soul can determine academy admission prospects, as institutions evaluate both innate Soul Power and Martial Soul quality. 5
• Tool Martial Souls have reduced the practical demand for conventional weapons because they gain Soul Rings and Soul Skills in addition to their inherent forms. 6
• A Soul Master may compensate for a weak or unconventional Martial Soul through careful Soul Ring selection, equipment, physical training, and Self-Created Soul Skills. 4 6 16

Soul Master society

Academies and credentials

• Soul Master credentials provide social privileges; in Heaven Dou City, Spirit Ancestors and above may use a priority entrance at the city gate. 5
• Academy admission is influenced by innate talent, Martial Soul type, noble status, Spirit Hall affiliation, and financial resources. 5
• Blue Tyrant Academy’s intermediate branch accepts commoners and can admit less-talented students through sponsorship fees. 5

Soul Ring hunting

• Soul Masters commonly enter Soul Beast forests to obtain suitable rings, either with companions or hired Soul Hunting Teams. 3 19 26
• Dangerous forests contain Soul Beasts ranging from century-level to Ten-Thousand-Year and Hundred-Thousand-Year threats. 6 19
• Accurate intelligence is highly valuable because ordinary hunts require searching forests without certainty that a suitable Soul Beast will be found. 16

Purple Heaven City

Purple Heaven City gives Soul Masters a shared Dream Space for long-distance interaction, cultivation assistance, commerce, and controlled combat.

• The city’s Dream-based system transmits participants’ appearances, movements, and other data between satellites in real time. 9
• Its Personal Cultivation Assistant can recommend Soul Ring paths, evaluate Soul Skills, and support Self-Created Soul Skill development. 11 16
