A Soul Master’s growth is governed by Soul Power level, Martial Soul compatibility, Soul Rings, physical condition, and—at higher thresholds—spiritual power.

Soul Rings

• Soul Rings are absorbed from defeated Soul Beasts and generally grant one Soul Skill each. 3 9 16

Self-Created Soul Skills

Self-Created Soul Skills are techniques developed through a Soul Master’s own Martial Soul rather than obtained from a Soul Ring.

• They supplement, rather than replace, normal Soul Ring skills. 16
• Their power scales with the user’s Soul Power and does not become obsolete as readily as low-aged Soul Ring skills. 16
• Creating one is difficult and dangerous; failed attempts can cause severe injury or permanently reduce cultivation. 16
• Purple Heaven City’s Personal Cultivation Assistant can analyze demonstrated techniques, measure their power, and recommend refinements. 17 18
• During Yu Yuanzhen’s test, the assistant raised the estimated power of his unfinished Thunder Dragon Bursting Charge from Level 55 to Level 57 through optimization advice. 18
• Fate AI can directly deduce suitable techniques from a Soul Master’s Martial Soul and Soul Power, rather than relying solely on repeated practice and incremental feedback. 43 51

Soul Power and physical foundations

A Soul Master’s Soul Power level does not fully describe their physical resilience, reserves, or combat effectiveness. Martial Souls, Soul Rings, Soul Skills, spiritual strength, and equipment all contribute to practical strength. Li Ming’s continuously strengthened body was assessed as comparable in resilience to that of a Soul Douluo above Level 80 while his Soul Power remained at Level 40, but this did not automatically give him a Soul Douluo’s complete combat capabilities. 92

• Soul Masters store Soul Power in the dantian, unlike Soul Beasts whose cells themselves can absorb and retain power. 67
• Meditation serves both to restore expended Soul Power and to advance cultivation. Soul Power accumulated beyond replenishment raises Soul Power Level, which the narrative identifies with Life Level. 81

Artificial Soul Rings and controlled sacrifice

Li Ming’s Artificial Soul Ring Project seeks to provide rings through engineered biological tissue and AI spiritual entities rather than conventional Soul Beast hunting. Early experiments showed that cultivated artificial organs could accumulate Soul Beast power but did not automatically produce Soul Rings when destroyed. Fate AI proposed that the missing factors involved a soul and independent uniqueness, while Satellite AI favored controlled elimination experiments. 58 82

• The first confirmed breakthrough used an Artificial Whale Stomach and artificial brain tissue linked to a simple AI program named Little Life. Destroying the creation produced a complete white Ten-Year Soul Ring. 90
• Li Ming publicly recruited Level-Ten Soul Masters for fusion experiments, with risks disclosed and compensation offered. Ning Fengzhi encouraged eligible Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect members to participate and promised additional support. 90

Martial Souls and Soul Skills

A Martial Soul is the foundation of a Soul Master’s cultivation and combat style. Martial Souls vary greatly in form and function, from traditional combat types to Tool Martial Souls and unusual mutations.

• A Martial Soul can determine academy admission prospects, as institutions evaluate both innate Soul Power and Martial Soul quality. 5
• Tool Martial Souls have reduced the practical demand for conventional weapons because they gain Soul Rings and Soul Skills in addition to their inherent forms. 6
• A Soul Master may compensate for a weak or unconventional Martial Soul through careful Soul Ring selection, equipment, physical training, and Self-Created Soul Skills. 4 6 16
• Li Ming’s Satellite Martial Soul demonstrates an exceptional case: its satellite network supplies reconnaissance, long-range Dream targeting, solar-energy cultivation, and orbital weapon support. 1 4 12 33

Soul Master society

Academies and credentials

• Soul Master credentials provide social privileges; in Heaven Dou City, Spirit Ancestors and above may use a priority entrance at the city gate. 5
• Academy admission is influenced by innate talent, Martial Soul type, noble status, Spirit Hall affiliation, and financial resources. 5
• Blue Tyrant Academy’s intermediate branch accepts commoners and can admit less-talented students through sponsorship fees. 5
• The Heaven Dou Empire grants Great Spirit Masters a subsidy of ten Gold Soul Coins. Claiming such benefits can conflict with a cultivator’s desire to conceal their advancement, as illustrated by Li Ming’s decision to avoid drawing attention to his rank. 5
• Soul Masters can be hired through Spirit Hall for officially registered escort missions. Li Ming’s family employed two Spirit Kings to protect their move to Heaven Dou City. 5

Soul Ring hunting

• Soul Masters commonly enter Soul Beast forests to obtain suitable rings, either with companions or hired Soul Hunting Teams. 3 19 26
• Dangerous forests contain Soul Beasts ranging from century-level to Ten-Thousand-Year and Hundred-Thousand-Year threats. 6 19

Purple Heaven City gives Soul Masters a shared Dream Space for long-distance interaction, cultivation assistance, commerce, and controlled combat.

• The city’s Dream-based system transmits participants’ appearances, movements, and other data between satellites in real time. 9
• Its Personal Cultivation Assistant can recommend Soul Ring paths, evaluate Soul Skills, and support Self-Created Soul Skill development. 11 16
• Closed Beta users receive randomized five-digit IDs, virtual panels, messaging functions, and access to city commerce. 22
• Losing access to Purple Heaven City means losing access to its cultivation resources, a consequence powerful enough to deter many Soul Masters from challenging its policies. 48

Dream Cultivation Method

The Dream Cultivation Method allows Soul Masters to remain lucid in Purple Heaven City while meditating and absorbing Soul Power in reality. They can develop techniques, practice combat, conduct business, or enjoy entertainment without abandoning their cultivation session. The method requires entering Dream Space without disrupting meditation and is comparatively easy for high-level Soul Masters to master. 97

• Practitioners independently refined the method to reduce strain on their bodies and meridians, enabling longer sessions and greater daily cultivation gains. 97
• Longer stays in Dream Space made Soul Masters less visible in ordinary society and coincided with declining crime rates. 97
• Major factions established Inner City bases and moved routine business online, but continued to hold sensitive discussions outside the city. 97

Intercontinental exchange and Soul Engineering

The Sun Moon Continent has approximately as many Soul Masters as Douluo Continent. According to Li Ming’s initial assessment, its practitioners are generally weaker in Martial Souls and Soul Skills but excel at making and using Soul Tools. Its seven warring empires treat Soul Tool technology as a strategic resource. 99 100

• Li Ming invited an initial group of roughly one hundred Sun Moon Soul Masters to Purple Heaven City, selecting candidates for strong fortune rather than cultivation rank. Some invitations were compulsory when the targets lacked sufficient resistance. 99
• Representatives of Douluo Continent’s empires and Spirit Hall welcomed the newcomers while deliberately gathering intelligence and withholding important information about the city’s cultivation resources. 99 100
• Soul Engineers can imagine materials and tools in Dream Space, practice engraving Core Arrays, and test their creations without consuming real resources. Kong Desheng verified that deliberate array flaws produced the expected failures and that a corrected array functioned properly. 101 102
