Partnership with Hyuga Satoru

Orochimaru first approaches Hyuga Satoru while the latter is hospitalized after using a costly forbidden technique. Recognizing unusual vitality and cellular damage, Orochimaru offers the Cell Activation training manual in exchange for fresh cells, hair, and blood. Orochimaru also deduces that Satoru’s proposed future cooperation concerns the Hyuga Branch Family’s Caged Bird Seal 47.

Their arrangement develops into a research partnership: Orochimaru wants to understand Satoru’s evolving body, while Satoru needs laboratory facilities and technical assistance to escape the seal. Anko leads Satoru to Orochimaru’s sewer laboratory, where comparative experiments reveal differences between Satoru’s cells and Hashirama Senju’s.
