Limited by backward technology and the objective constraints of the historical environment, the Raven Guard force Roderick had built from scratch was merely an outdated, classical army centered around infantry.
Even if their leader's personal combat strength could create local breakthroughs and suppression, providing the entire force with the necessary martial cover and greatly raising the soldiers' morale,
it could not change the fact that most of Roderick's soldiers were hopelessly weak. Aside from those knights, many had very limited room for improvement.
Footman was a very interesting title. Protecting the townspeople with their lives, fighting the Undead's skeletons, Ghouls, and Crypt Fiends with flesh and blood, standing against Orc berserkers and Wolf Riders, then ultimately collapsing helplessly beneath the blades of Death Knights or Orc Blademasters—that was the common fate of an ordinary human who entered battle in Azeroth.
Fortunately, the combat strength of the other human armies in this world also hovered around the same pathetic level. Many human forces, such as the Syndicate troops, might not even reach five points of combat strength.
Roderick reviewed the personnel arrangements he had just made, wondering whether there were any loopholes. The original infantry squad commanders had all been promoted to company commanders. Adrian did not have sufficient prestige to command the Stormpike Dwarf soldiers. To make up for his disappointment, he would lead an infantry company of his own while still commanding the remaining human ranged troops.
Such treatment came from Adrian's consistently outstanding performance, which had won Roderick over. Roderick believed Adrian would not have any complaints.
Although Arnold's growth had been good, his personality was still somewhat soft. He could not yet become a truly dependable warrior. Sending him to the front lines to command infantry in battle should help him mature faster.
