Feitan charged forward, brandishing his dagger. With a clatter, he knocked aside a barrage of arrows, then swiftly shoved Illumi out of the way.

As for Luo Ye and Machi, they were walking behind them and had an easier time avoiding the arrows.

Illumi steadied himself to the side and nodded at Feitan. "Thank you."

He had been careless just now. Thinking that Rasa was dead and no one else was around, he had let down his guard. If Feitan had not shoved him aside, he would have been injured even if he did not die.

Meteor City was not a place suited for recovering from injuries. After all, it was full of people who would take your life when you were down.

Still, he had never expected Feitan to save him. It was obvious from Feitan's face that he disliked him.

So he truly had not expected Feitan to rescue him. At the time, he had already prepared himself to be injured.

"Don't misunderstand. I didn't save you for any other reason." Feitan narrowed his long, golden eyes. "You haven't fulfilled the agreement yet. I can't let you die."

Even if those flying arrows could not take Illumi's life, an injured Illumi definitely would not be able to wholeheartedly teach them Nen abilities.

For the sake of Illumi still needing to teach them, Feitan had reluctantly lent him a hand.
