Hand in Hand, Let's Go

Seeing him lift a leg as if to lead the way, Illumi remained expressionless, though his tone held some confusion. "Can't we just get there directly, like you did just now?"

He remembered that Luo Ye and the others had clearly appeared in front of them out of nowhere before. If they could do that, why did they have to walk themselves?

Wouldn't teleporting with Nen be faster? Or was Luo Ye trying to stall for time so this self-aware house could hide some of Rasa's treasures?

Did Luo Ye think he had not contributed much and did not want to give him too much?

The more Illumi thought about it, the more convinced he became. A hint of grievance entered his voice. "If you think I didn't contribute much and don't want to give me anything, you can just say so. I can make it up to you later."

But he could not simply say nothing and erase Illumi's contribution, refusing to pay him his reward!

Luo Ye could tell from his expression that he had gotten the wrong idea. He rubbed his brow with a headache. "I'm not trying to send you away so I can keep everything for myself. Sigh, forget it. I'll take you there directly!"

Otherwise, Illumi might really think he had pocketed everything. Given Illumi's greed for money and tendency to hold grudges, Luo Ye had no desire to provoke such an opponent for the time being. It was better to explain things clearly.

As he spoke, he reached out to take Illumi's hand. Seeing this, Feitan swiftly extended his own hand and clasped Luo Ye's.

"You can hold my hand. No need to hold his," Feitan said coolly, though his reddened ears gave away his feelings.

Yet even though he was embarrassed, Feitan did not let go of Luo Ye's hand.

He did not like Luo Ye having any physical contact with other men. If Luo Ye wanted to hold someone's hand, he could just hold Feitan's.

"I was going to hold yours anyway." Luo Ye was somewhat baffled by his sudden move. "But he needs to hold on too. All four of us have to hold hands, or I can't bring everyone over!"

Just as he had said earlier, he still needed time to get used to the magical artifact he had only just acquired. He could teleport two people instantly. Four people exceeded the limit.

At that, Feitan's brows immediately knotted together, his entire face filled with reluctance. "Can't we just walk there? Do we have to hold hands?"

He thought walking there was perfectly fine. Why did they have to teleport? Teleporting would have been one thing, but they even had to hold hands. Was this even proper teleportation?

"Isn't it because the young master is afraid I'll keep everything for myself? I'm taking him over there quickly so he can see whether I actually did." Luo Ye explained, then used his other hand to grasp Illumi's.

His hand was icy cold. Luo Ye felt as if he had grabbed a rough block of ice. Although Illumi was a young master, perhaps because he had stayed in Meteor City, his hand was very rough. On closer inspection, there were even calluses on his palm.

It was completely different from the pampered hand Luo Ye had imagined a young master would have.

With his hand suddenly taken, Illumi's large catlike eyes widened as he stared fixedly at Luo Ye. An indescribable emotion flashed through his eyes.

This was the first time someone had held his hand.

Feitan watched with a deeply furrowed brow. Since all four of them had to hold hands, why did Yezi have to hold Illumi's? Couldn't he hold Machi's instead?

The more he looked at those two clasped hands, the more they offended his eyes. He desperately wanted to take a knife and chop off Illumi's hand.

If not for the last trace of reason remaining in his heart, he would have been unable to suppress the rage within him.

Luo Ye had no idea what Feitan was thinking. He merely looked at Machi and instructed, "Machi, hold on too. I'm going over now."

Once he saw that Machi had taken hold as well, Luo Ye closed his eyes and thought of the place he wanted to go. A few seconds later, they arrived in a place filled with food.
