As soon as Rogge finished speaking, a buzzing sound rose around them. The black pig grew agitated, fear filling its eyes.
"What's that sound?" Ham asked, looking over.
"You're asking for it!"
Rogge raised his fist and punched the air.
Bang!
The air cracked. A vast swarm hung in the sky, so thick it seemed to cover everything. Each creature was only the size of a thumb, yet they were terrifying: black bees that even the enormous pig feared.
Rogge's punch stopped the swarm in midair. Their beating wings went still.
Crack!
The air shattered. Every bee before them was torn apart and fell from the sky.
"The black bees didn't work?"
Rogge's ear twitched. He recognized the voice—he had heard it among the people who had retreated earlier. They had come back, and knowing his group was strong, they had brought the swarm.
"Come out. Who are you? What island is this?" Rogge asked coldly, turning toward the voice.
The people hiding in the darkness were startled, but they still refused to show themselves. Instead, they quietly backed away.
"I'll give you one more chance. If I have to find you, you'll die badly." Rogge's patience was wearing thin.
Perhaps convinced by his display of strength, two people emerged from the darkness. Their skin was pitch-black.
"You're outsiders. Pirates, aren't you?" the middle-aged man in front asked.
