It was a shame. The Devil Fruit was a rare creation-type fruit, but when Rogge asked the others, not one of them wanted it.

Jerry did not want to become a Devil Fruit User. He loved swimming and had no wish to lose that ability.

Ares wanted it, but he was afraid the Devil Fruit would be wasted on him. Besides, he was a doctor. With his companions, the poisons he carried, and Lassoo's help, he had everything he needed.

Cook was a Fish-Man and did not want to give up the sea. Simon had his sniper rifle and had no interest in Devil Fruits either.

So when Rogge finally felt like splurging, he had nothing to spend his money on.

The fruit ended up in a merchant's hands. Many strange things came up for auction afterward, including refined medicines and special metals.

The Vinsmoke Family, seated not far from Rogge, bought quite a few things. They relied on technology, and technology burned through money. Just look at Iron Man: money was a superpower of its own.

Rogge still saw nothing he wanted. Neither did Donquixote Doflamingo, and Crocodile seemed uninterested as well.

Of the crews led by the Four Emperors, only Ace of the Whitebeard Pirates made a bid. He bought some fine wine. Plenty of people wanted it, but they backed down out of respect for Whitebeard. From what Ace said, a crewmate's birthday was coming up, and the wine was a gift for Whitebeard.

Lucky Roux did not bid. Katakuri bought some rare ingredients instead: eggs from a prized bird, uncommon flower nectar, and more. He was probably planning to make desserts for Big Mom.
