All right, this was a fake sniper. Rogge had thought he had struck gold—getting a ship's doctor and a sniper at once.
But seeing all the muskets and cannons on the ship, Rogge felt they really needed to find a sniper. Otherwise, those things would just become decorations.
"How about we take a trip to Sky Island?" Rogge showed no sense of tension at all as he chatted with them.
"Sky Island? The Sky Island of Noland the Liar?" Ham had clearly read quite a few books and knew this story from the North Blue.
"That's right. He recorded the existence of Sky Island." Rogge smiled.
"Wasn't that a scam? Noland the Liar—everyone in the world knew that man was a liar," Jelly said.
"No, Sky Island really exists. You just don't know about it." Cook shook his head.
"There really is a Sky Island, ten thousand meters up in the sky?" Jelly asked in surprise.
"Fish-Man Island is also ten thousand meters beneath the sea. What's so impossible about that? There are even pirates in outer space. Jelly, you're like a frog at the bottom of a well, hahaha!" Rogge burst out laughing.
"Damn it, you talk like you know everything. Right, why are we going to Sky Island?" Jelly came back to his senses and asked.
"What a stupid question. Don't you think it'd be a shame not to visit Sky Island? If we're going on an adventure, of course we should go see it. A Sky Island ten thousand meters in the air—don't you want to see it?" Rogge said.
"I really do want to see it." Jelly nodded.
"If Sky Island really exists, I want to see it too. A place ten thousand meters in the sky." Ham nodded.
As they kept chattering away, Ares, clutching his musket, felt that he had boarded the wrong ship. The enemies were charging at them aggressively, yet these guys were still shooting the breeze. What kind of lunatics were they?
"Enough already! The enemy is right in front of us, and you're still talking about Sky Island? Get through this first! Forget Sky Island—we'll all be buried at sea in a moment!" Ares shouted, gripping his musket tighter.
"Got it. Ares, you really need to work on your courage. You destroyed an entire country, for crying out loud. How did you ever bring yourself to do it with this little nerve?" Rogge said as he picked his ear.
"I didn't kill anyone! I only wanted to teach them a lesson. The virus mutated on its own—I didn't do it on purpose!" Ares retorted loudly.
"Quit yapping. You released the virus. Everyone in an entire kingdom died because of it, so stop making excuses. You're more vicious than any of us. And after all that, you're still scared? What are you afraid of? Millions died because of you. Have you ever seen a ghost come looking for revenge? No! Dead people are dead people. How could the dead take revenge? What you need to do now is face it calmly." Rogge patted him on the shoulder.
Ares said nothing at once, his hands clenching the musket tightly.
"All right, that's enough chit-chat. Sky Island is over by the Grand Line. First, we cross Reverse Mountain. Cook, take us there," Rogge said.
"Ares, the ship is in your hands." Cook glanced at Ares.
"What?" Ares had not yet recovered when Cook's words immediately sent him into a panic.
Cook leaped into the water, the fin on his back breaking the surface. Ham laughed and jumped in after him, landing steadily on Cook's back. Raising both arms, he had Rogge and Jelly stand on them.
"The one who strikes first has the advantage." Rogge laughed as Cook surged forward like a torpedo. During the rapid charge, Rogge felt as though he were flying.
"Hahaha, Third Brother's motorcycle tactic." Rogge looked at the formation of the four of them and suddenly laughed.
"What motorcycle tactic? Are there motorcycles here?" Jelly asked.
"Nothing." Rogge shrugged.
Cook delivered them before the pirate ships, then braked sharply and flung Ham and the other two off his back. In midair, Ham forcefully hurled Rogge and Jelly from his hands toward two other ships.
"You can do that?" Ares, still on the ship, was dumbfounded. There was actually such a ridiculous maneuver?
Boom!
Rogge stomped both feet onto the deck. To show off, he used a great deal of force and even added his Fruit power.
Wood chips flew everywhere as the entire deck burst apart. Rogge dropped smoothly into the ship's cabin.
Cough, cough, cough!
Rogge climbed out of the cabin. He had crushed the deck at the bow beneath his feet, but the pirates had already scattered the instant he fell, so none of them had been affected.
"This is a little awkward." Rogge braced himself with both hands and climbed out of the cabin.
"Kill!"
Before he could say anything, the captain of that ship had already pointed his blade at him and ordered his men to kill Rogge.
"Why the rush?" Rogge raised his fist and swung it.
Bang!
A punch without any power sent one pirate, along with several people behind him, flying.
Rogge was quickly surrounded, but he leaped nimbly through the crowd, punching and kicking without pause. One pirate after another was taken down by him.
Of course, Rogge's fighting efficiency could not compare with Jelly's. The ship Jelly was on had already become covered in vines. Pirate after pirate was bound up by them. It was practically easier than slaughtering chickens—one slash each, without the slightest pressure.
Ham had also transformed into a kangaroo, taking quick little steps and knocking out one pirate with every punch. The deck seemed to have become a fighting ring.
Bang!
Just as Rogge and the others made their move, a tremendous boom came from beneath one ship. The entire vessel rose off the sea, revealing an enormous hole in its underside. Its keel had been smashed apart.
"Tsk, tsk, that's brutal." Rogge looked over and vaguely made out the shape of an iron hammer beneath the water.
Naval combat was like child's play for Fish-Men. Who could deal with Cook? And his companion looked far from ordinary, and ruthless as well, going straight for the keel. Once the keel broke, a ship was as good as crippled.
In a normal naval battle, destroying a keel required either overwhelming strength to snap the ship in half directly, or an attack launched from beneath the vessel.
Only the Fish-Man Tribe could unleash all their strength in the sea. This kind of battlefield was perfectly suited for Cook.
"Looks like my pace has been too slow. There are still plenty of ships left." Rogge flexed his fingers, then curled them into a fist.
Sky-Shattering Fist!
His fist struck the air. The pirates aboard the ship heard something shatter, and then saw cracks suddenly spreading through the atmosphere.
"How is this possible? The air has been..." The pirate captain's eyes widened as he cried out.
Rogge smiled faintly. "Nothing is impossible. The Chop-Chop Fruit seems far stronger than I imagined. Unfortunately, its destructive power cannot reach the level of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, but shattering the air is no problem. Are you ready? Death is coming. Hehe."
