Rogge laughed as he left, watching Blackbeard's aggrieved expression. He had not put Blackbeard in shackles. Ordinary logic did not apply to this man, and with Doc Q around, trying to control him through a plague would probably only expose his scheme.

By making good use of Blackbeard, Rogge could save himself a great deal of trouble and work in secret behind the scenes.

He left with Shiryu and the others, leaving Blackbeard's group to sail away on their raft. Later, Rogge would secretly maneuver this man into fighting the Whitebeard Pirates to the death.

And not just him—there was Weevil, too. Rogge did not need to contact him. He only needed to spread word that Whitebeard had left behind a treasure, and someone like Buckin would certainly take Weevil to attack the Whitebeard Pirates. Other pirates would go as well. It would kill two birds with one stone. For Rogge, spreading rumors and using others to do his killing cost nothing.

Marco and the others would never have imagined that, with Blackbeard gone, Rogge would take his place. Rogge had gone to painstaking lengths to plot the seizure of the Whitebeard Pirates' territory.

Seeing Sanjuan Wolf crouched aboard the Ark, Akainu fixed Rogge with a fierce stare. Unable to hold back any longer, he used Geppo to catch up with the Ark.

"Stop right there," Akainu growled, standing at the Ark's bow.

"What is it, Admiral Sakazuki?" Rogge asked, looking puzzled.

"Why are they on your ship?" Akainu demanded, staring at Shiryu and the others.

"Oh, them? They've turned over a new leaf. They joined me and are now my subordinates," Rogge said with a smile.

"Are you kidding me?"
