Mock Town was a well-known town in the First Half. Jaya Island was not very large; half had been developed into a city, while the other half remained forest, home to a unique creature called the South Bird, a big-headed bird whose head always faced south.

There were almost no local residents in town. Four hundred years ago, all the original inhabitants had gone up. Because the magnetic field along this route was affected by Sky Island, many pirate crews passing through had no choice but to gather here.

Some pirates saw profit in it and stayed to build the place up. Slowly, Mock Town came into being. The person who invested the most here was actually one of the Shichibukai, Donquixote Doflamingo. If Donquixote Doflamingo had not kept things under control, how could such a town exist? Were pirates really law-abiding people who neither robbed nor destroyed?

It was all because of the Shichibukai's deterrence, especially Joker, who was famous throughout the Underworld. Without exception, every pirate who came here was told about it.

Mock Town had someone backing it. You could come here and have fun, but you could not take things too far. At the very least, you could not lay a hand on the merchants here.
