Background / History

Su Ziyu created the Dread Demon Eye as his first edited monster in the Hundred-Eyed Furnace. He used the Malice-Filled Abyssal Eye as its core, Yellow-Stained Feather of the Ancient Ruins to form its wings, and Boiling Demon Blood to strengthen its vitality. The completed creature was rated Excellent, reached the Awakening Ninth Stage immediately, and transferred one-tenth of its spiritual power to Su Ziyu. 2

Following its birth, the eye behaved like a restless child, circling Su Ziyu and making infant-like cries despite having no visible mouth. 3 It first demonstrated its bloodlust during Director Li's ambush, where absorbed blood drove it into a berserk state and enabled it to restrain the ghoul cultist with tentacles. 5

During the Jiangyuan Psychiatric Hospital crisis, it fed continuously on the blood of worm and jelly-like organisms. This sustained feeding transformed it into a colossal, moon-sized entity whose appearance over River City was mistaken for a second moon and feared as a forbidden existence. 13 14 Its evolved power overwhelmed Old Huang's worm-based body and helped destroy the Ghoul Cult's sacrificial ritual. 15 16

Appearance

The Dread Demon Eye originally resembles a palm-sized, bird-like monster with no body beyond a single black eyeball and a pair of stained feathered wings. Its appearance becomes vastly more grotesque and imposing after feeding on blood.

Personality

The Dread Demon Eye is violent, bloodthirsty, and excitable in battle. It emits childlike cries and manic laughter while feeding or attacking, and it reacts impatiently when denied combat. 3 8 13 15

Despite its brutality, it obeys Su Ziyu consistently. It remains ready in his pocket when danger approaches, follows his commands in combat, and later takes on a detached “older brother” role around Ruan Xiaoqi and the Void Shadow Beast. 8 21 It also cooperates with Ruan Xiaoqi against the Faceless Ghost Fox, responding to her invitation to attack alongside her. 45
