Background

World was a destructive pirate whom the Marines had nearly captured through Sengoku and Garp before he escaped by accelerating with the More-More Fruit. He later challenged the Rocks Pirates for recognition, driving Silver Axe away with an amplified sword strike and earning acceptance as a Rocks Pirates officer. A feast on Hachinosu celebrated his recruitment. 94

After the Rocks Pirates' collapse, World occupied several islands but left each one plundered and devastated. He later operated alongside other former Rocks officers, including John, Silver Axe, Ochoku, and Brandon, while also raiding the Four Seas for recruits and resources. 132 238

Personality

World is intensely ambitious, destructive, and hostile toward the World Government and Celestial Dragons. He believes that sufficient pirate power could erase the World Government entirely, and he seeks weapons capable of killing even top-tier fighters. 286 287

Despite this ruthlessness, he values his crew and his brother Byojack. Li Yuan's warning that World’s ambitions endangered his companions forces him to confront the consequences of his actions; afterward, he begins preparing escape routes and supply caches in the Calm Belt rather than relying solely on open confrontation. 287

He can be pragmatic when necessary. Although angered when Li Yuan claimed part of the Dyna Stone supply he had sought, World accepted a division of the stockpile rather than risk detonating the island’s reserves in a fight. 239
