History

Li Yuan founded the crew after leaving Pargas Island with Lazuli, Kano, and Karu. During a New World storm, after Li Yuan destroyed an iceberg threatening their ship, he named the group the Limitless Pirates. 13 15

The crew’s first recorded major victory came at Suoluo Island, where it decisively defeated the Leopard Pirates. Though several members were wounded, none died under Li Yuan’s protection and Lazuli’s medical treatment. 17

The Limitless Pirates expanded from a small traveling crew into a major New World force through territorial conquest, recruitment, trade, and technological development. They seized non-affiliated kingdoms, conquered the World Government-affiliated Baikal Kingdom, and later defeated both the Silver Axe Pirates and Violent Pirates, claiming much of the New World’s central region. 149 154 182 185

By Sea Garden Calendar 1489, the Limitless Pirates and Flying Pirates were recognized as the New World’s two leading Legendary Pirate Crews, chiefly due to the scale of their territories. 188

The crew repeatedly fought the Marines and World Government, including wars supported by other pirate crews. It later led the Pirate Alliance in overthrowing the World Government. Li Yuan retained seventy percent of the world’s territory, after which the Limitless Empire was established as the public governing body while the Limitless Pirates remained its hidden core. 199 268 490 492 493
