Background

Guga first appeared when Qin Qi dropped a Cookie during his Martial Soul Awakening. Drawn to it immediately, she snatched and ate it before accepting another Cookie from him. Neither knew why she had appeared, though Qin Qi suspected his Cookie Martial Soul had summoned her. 1 2

After Qin Qi took her in, Guga became his constant companion in Penguin Village. She initially claimed to possess no special abilities beyond having many friends, but soon proved able to disappear, travel between worlds, and call specialized Gugas to help with Qin Qi’s problems. 2 3 4

Guga identifies herself as the ancestor of all Gugas. Flower Gardener Guga addresses her as an ancestor, while Sea God Guguga later seeks her help as a senior family member. 3 33

Guga is a small black-and-white, penguin-like girl with large expressive eyes, little wings, and a round body. She is commonly described as wearing or resembling a penguin suit. 1 12

Personality

Guga is affectionate, food-motivated, and highly attached to Qin Qi. She considers him family, eagerly accepts his Cookies, and repeatedly seeks help from other Gugas on his behalf. 1 3 32

Despite her carefree and sometimes careless behavior, Guga is compassionate. She was horrified by the idea of killing the captured Ice Empress and refused Qin Qi’s suggestion that they lie to Klee about losing Dodoco. 6 12

Her impulsiveness caused the Dodoco incident: while disposing of Klee’s explosives, she threw away Klee’s backpack without checking it. Once Qin Qi explained Dodoco’s sentimental value, Guga became remorseful and immediately committed herself to recovering it. 11 12

Guga appeared during Qin Qi’s Martial Soul Awakening after being drawn to his dropped Cookie. Qin Qi quickly accepted her as his companion, and Guga helped him address the practical problem of farming in the Far North by bringing Flower Gardener Guga to transform his frozen courtyard. 1 2 3

Far North Encounters

After Qin Qi asked to become stronger, Guga brought Whirlpool Guga to teach him. During an outing, Guga was attacked by Ice Jade Scorpions and became involved in the conflict with the Ice Empress. The group captured the Ice Empress but pleaded with Qin Qi not to kill her. 4 5 6

Dodoco Recovery

While following Qin Qi’s instructions to dispose of Klee’s bombs, Guga accidentally discarded Klee’s backpack and Dodoco. She refused to deceive Klee, took responsibility for the mistake, and traveled with Qin Qi through the Far North to find the doll. 11 12 13

Household Construction and Interworld Delivery

Guga recruited I-Beam Guga’s construction team to rebuild Qin Qi’s destroyed house. She later introduced the household to Myriad Worlds Express by ordering supplies, a refrigerator for herself to sleep in, and other goods through her phone. 9 14 15

Sea God Guguga Rescue and Sea God Island

When Sea God Guguga lost her trident and went missing, Guga encouraged Qin Qi to search for her. She accompanied the expedition to Sea God Island, defended Qin Qi from Sea God Guguga’s attempt to claim him as a High Priest, and helped pull the Golden Trident away from the Sea God’s phantom. 33 35 40 44

After Sea God Guguga became the sea’s new protector, Guga advised her by phone on establishing safer, benevolent Sea God Trials focused on suppressing pirates, protecting marine life, and preventing pollution. 45 46 49
