Background / History

Qin Qi was a corporate worker from Blue Star who died from overwork and transmigrated to Douluo Continent. His parents later died while hunting in the Far North, leaving him an orphan in the care of relatives at Penguin Village, Ice Snow City 1.

At his martial-soul awakening, he received a cookie-shaped Food-type martial soul and Innate Soul Power Rank Three. Though disappointed by its apparent lack of combat ability, he accepted a future of stable, peaceful work rather than pursuing strength 1. His outlook changed when Gugu Gaga appeared after taking one of his cookies; Qin Qi concluded that his martial soul might possess a hidden summoning function 1.

Qin Qi surrendered Penguin Village's sole academy admission place to his cousin Shui Bing'er, whose Ice Phoenix martial soul and Innate Full Soul Power made her the more promising student. He chose to remain in the Far North with Gugu Gaga, intending to farm and avoid the struggles surrounding Spirit Hall and the Heaven Dou Empire 2.

His quiet life gradually became a household for Gugas, Doros, Klee, Zhongli, and other visitors from different worlds. Though he repeatedly describes himself as untalented and prefers domestic life to cultivation, his food-type abilities, companions, and eventual Sea God recognition place him at the center of increasingly large incidents 7 31 41.

Qin Qi is a young boy who frequently wears a magical penguin suit while traveling through the Far North.

Personality

Qin Qi is laid-back and initially uninterested in fame, political conflict, or conventional cultivation. He would rather farm, eat snacks, and live peacefully with Guga and Doro than compete with powerful Soul Masters 2 32.

Despite his self-described laziness, he is consistently responsible toward those under his care. He accepts Klee as family, searches the Far North for Dodoco despite the danger, organizes rescues during blizzards, and refuses to sell gifts made by his friends for money 9 12 13 28 31 26.

He is compassionate even when violence would be beneficial. Qin Qi released the defeated Ice Empress because the Gugas could not bear the idea of killing her, and later spared the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King and his wife, choosing restitution over execution 6 48.
