Background / History

Thor arrives on Earth after Odin strips him of his powers and exiles him for an unspecified serious mistake in Asgard. During this period, he uses the false identity “Tony,” unsuccessfully tries to reclaim Mjolnir, and is beaten by ordinary soldiers because his divine abilities are sealed. 137

Kino identifies Mjolnir as Thor’s hammer and describes its enchantment: only someone with justice in their heart and noble character may lift it. Kino bypasses Odin’s restriction rather than qualifying naturally, temporarily taking the hammer before bringing it to Thor. 138 139
