At the sight of the dark figure above Kong, Doffy's expression changed.
"Werther, that's Yas, a leader in Kaido's Gifters. I've dealt with him before. Looks like Kaido's come knocking."
Werther's eyes lit up at the name Kaido.
"One of Kaido's men? Is he here for revenge? He sent just this guy? Is he looking down on me? He could at least have sent one of the other All-Stars. What's this supposed to mean?"
Doffy was speechless. Most people would panic a little at Kaido's name, but Werther looked almost excited.
"I doubt he's here to fight you outright. He's probably here to declare war."
Werther paused. Declare war? From what he knew of Kaido in his previous life, a man who jumped off Sky Island in an attempt to kill himself hardly seemed the type.
As they spoke, Kaido's subordinate landed amid a howling gust and looked toward the relaxed Werther.
"You're the Thunder Swordsman, right? Lord Kaido wants to talk to you."
Given Werther's fearsome record of defeating Jack, Kaido's subordinate was polite.
He had little choice. If he angered the man before him, he might never leave this place.
"I'm the Thunder Swordsman. Are you declaring war on me for Kaido? Name the time and place."
Kaido's subordinate was baffled. What was going on? He hadn't even said anything yet.
And why did the man seem so eager to go to war with the Beasts Pirates?
The envoy sent by Kaido to Dressrosa grumbled inwardly. Of course. Hardly any of these powerful people are normal.
"We have no intention of doing that for now. I came to deliver Lord Kaido's Den Den Mushi."
With that, Kaido's subordinate took a Den Den Mushi from his coat and set it on the table beside Werther.
