Not long after the call ended, the Den Den Mushi representing Kaido rang again.
Werther answered but said nothing.
"Thunder Swordsman, what's the meaning of this?"
Kaido's voice was low, his tone hostile.
"What do I mean? Do you have any idea how much you make from Dressrosa every month? I'm about to go to war, and you're asking me what I want?
"Are your men blind? Dressrosa's under martial law, and they haven't noticed a thing?
"Kaido, our business ends here. Don't expect to get another Beli out of Dressrosa."
Werther's stance was firm. He wasn't the sort to swallow an insult.
"You want another enemy? Gulp, gulp~"
The sound of someone drinking deeply came over the line.
"Kaido, we can still consider joining the war."
Tillman's voice came through the Den Den Mushi.
Werther gave a cold laugh.
"Stop putting on a show for me. If you've got the guts, bring your men to Dressrosa and fight me. But Kaido, there's something I forgot to tell you."
"What? Spit it out."
Kaido was as rude as ever.
"Did you really think I wouldn't expect you to stay neutral when it mattered?
"Or did you think those Artificial Devil Fruits were as perfect as you imagined? Bring your men to Dressrosa and find out."
If Kaido really came to Dressrosa with his men, Werther would give him an Absolute surprise.
Werther and Doffy held the key to the Artificial Devil Fruits' greatest weakness.
Otherwise, Werther would never have sold Kaido so many of them. That would have been digging his own grave.
Werther hung up and threw the Den Den Mushi straight out the window. He had no intention of contacting Kaido again.
He and Kaido were nothing alike. Kaido was a madman bent on destroying the world; Werther
