Background / History

Ye Qingtian is a transmigrator who arrived on Douluo Continent roughly two hundred years before the story. During an era of widespread turmoil, he joined Spirit Hall and became one of its Supreme Worshippers. Though Qian Daoliu later became Grand Worshipper, Ye Qingtian retained superior seniority, authority, and strength. 1

He is nominally a Demigod because he has not condensed a Godhood; however, he is described as vastly beyond ordinary Demigods, able to defeat Qian Daoliu in a single move and slay gods. He previously fought through the Divine Realm without finding an equal, gaining the epithet “Uncrowned God King.” 1

Ye Qingtian later reveals that his former war against the God Realm was catastrophically destructive. He suppressed the gods, shattered several planes, and caused countless deaths before intervening to prevent the Douluo Continent itself from collapsing. His present refined and restrained manner is implied to be an effort to atone for the bloodshed associated with that era. 99

His continued presence in the mortal world is tied to a system achievement: he must protect Qian Renxue until she safely becomes a god. Completion will allow him to condense a Supreme Godhood and transcend the Douluo Universe, while Ye Qingtian additionally intends to ensure that she securely retains her divine position afterward. 1 12 107

Before the current events, he was already known as the Human Emperor Douluo, a terrifying figure from the chaotic old era whose Human Emperor Banner left battlefields covered in black smoke, corpses, and lingering souls. 35 39

Appearance

Ye Qingtian outwardly resembles a refined young man in his early twenties, despite carrying an unmistakably ancient and weathered presence. 1

  • Shimmering white hair. 1
  • Refined, youthful facial features. 1
  • An aura marked by the passage of time. 1
  • Often dresses plainly enough that others initially mistake him for an ordinary person. 4

Personality

Ye Qingtian is detached, confident, and largely uninterested in status, political etiquette, or threats backed by powerful names. He judges people by their actual strength and conduct, not their family, sect, or title. 20 21 22

He is uncompromising toward slander, deception, and arrogant abuse of influence. Ning Rongrong’s false accusation, Xiao Wu’s feigned apology, and Yu Xiaogang’s repeated attempts to invoke external backing all draw increasingly severe responses from him. 8 16 22

Around Qian Renxue, however, he is patient, teasing, and openly protective. He indulges her affection, comforts her when she is distressed, and repeatedly emphasizes that she must cultivate personal strength rather than depend entirely on family or political power. 1 9 31 46

Although he usually exercises restraint, Ye Qingtian retains the ruthless mentality of the Human Emperor of the chaotic era. He considers weak opponents unqualified to morally judge him and is willing to resume widespread slaughter if circumstances demand it. 68 74 99

He is also strategic in conflicts with the God Realm. Though confident he can defeat the five God Kings, he avoids reckless full-power battles because they could destroy the God Realm, Douluo Continent, and other planes. 98 116

Abilities & Skills

Demigod-Level Strength

Ye Qingtian is described as a Demigod and later as a Rank 99 Titled Douluo, but his power is treated as far beyond conventional limits of either classification. 1 32

  • Can defeat Qian Daoliu, despite their nominally shared realm, in one move. 1
  • Claims to have fought through the Divine Realm and to be capable of killing gods. 1
  • Defeated Sword Douluo’s Martial Soul Avatar and Ninth Soul Skill without summoning a Martial Soul. 17 18
  • Formed and shattered a massive star-like construct with one finger, collapsing Sword Douluo’s God-Demon Twin Slashes in the process. 18
  • Effortlessly defeated the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape with a single palm strike. 48
  • A protective space around him remains unaffected by Gu Yuena’s dragon might. 50
  • Subdued the Golden Dragon King in the Divine Forbidden Land so thoroughly that the latter compared Ye Qingtian’s pressure to that of the Dragon God. 140
  • Is considered capable of killing even Poseidon despite the intervention of the five God Kings. 148

Divine Sense

Ye Qingtian can extend divine sense across Heaven Dou City and its surrounding regions. 12

  • Observed Flender’s journey to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 12
  • Detected Tang Hao waiting near Shrek Academy. 12
  • Identified Tang San’s parentage before it became public knowledge. 12
  • Detected Tang Chen’s return to Shrek Academy and identified his incomplete Shura God inheritance. 106
  • Can sense major threats and divine presences approaching the mortal realm. 94 108

Human Emperor Banner

The Human Emperor Banner is Ye Qingtian’s first Martial Soul and the source of his Human Emperor Douluo title. It manifests as a massive banner accompanied by black smoke and crushing pressure. 1 38 39

  • Is said to sever souls, command armies, slaughter gods, and destroy demons. 1
  • Darkened the sky over Heaven Dou City and spread overwhelming pressure across the city. 38 39
  • Instantly shattered Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s Bipolar Stillness Domain and resisted both of their Ninth Soul Skills. 40
  • Destroyed Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s physical bodies in a single swing, then drew their souls into the banner. 40 46
  • Can preserve and bind the souls it captures; Yue Guan and Gui Mei later serve Qian Renxue as ghostly spies. 46
  • Its destructive range is dangerous enough that Ye Qingtian stopped after one attack rather than turn Heaven Dou City into a “city of the dead.” 40
  • Its complete form can summon hundreds of powerful ghostly figures, most with Titled Douluo-level auras and several approaching or surpassing Demigod level. 96
  • The ghostly army can form a collective formation capable of affecting Shura God’s divine aura. 96

Sunset Bow

The Sunset Bow is Ye Qingtian’s second Martial Soul and the basis for his Sky Bow Douluo identity. It appears as a golden longbow streaked with fiery red, emerging through a spatial rift. 1 46 50

  • Its aura surpasses the majesty Qian Renxue associates with her Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul. 50
  • Is described as capable of being drawn like a full moon to shoot down gods, annihilate stars, and destroy moons. 1
  • Forms golden arrows that Ye Qingtian claims can cross time and reveal a target’s future. 50
  • Its primordial pressure nearly caused Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s spiritual bodies to collapse. 50
  • Ye Qingtian aimed it at Gu Yuena but declined to directly exploit her injuries, offering her the choice to accept the shot or retreat. 50
  • Its arrow manifested the Golden River, allowing Gu Yuena, Qian Renxue, Di Tian, and the fierce beasts to witness past, present, and possible future events. 52
  • The arrow also healed Gu Yuena’s hidden injuries, restoring the Silver Dragon King to full condition. 55
  • Ye Qingtian publicly revealed the bow as his own Martial Soul during Tang Hao’s rescue wager, confirming that Human Emperor Douluo and Sky Bow Douluo are one person. 112
  • In his previous God Realm battle, Ye Qingtian held back a Sunset Bow attack because firing without restraint would have destroyed an entire plane along with Shura God. 130

Black Demon Dragon

Ye Qingtian can summon and command the Black Demon Dragon, described as a Martial Soul whose power is sufficient to threaten a God King. 98

  • Its attack can kill an ordinary First-Level God. 98
  • Forced Shura God to summon the Super Divine Artifact Asura Demon Sword and expend origin power to split it apart. 98
  • Its appearance demonstrated that Ye Qingtian had concealed a substantial portion of his strength during his earlier confrontation with Shura God. 98

Spatial Manipulation

Ye Qingtian can manipulate space freely for travel, restraint, and battlefield control. 47 60 114

  • Reached the core region of the Star Dou Great Forest with Qian Renxue in half a day. 47
  • Opens spatial passages between the Star Dou Great Forest, Heaven Dou City, and other locations at will. 60 75
  • Pulled Xiao Wu back from hundreds of li away after Tang Hao temporarily rescued her. 114
  • Can tear open the void to transport himself and Qian Renxue directly. 99

Soul Pressure and Restraint

Ye Qingtian can incapacitate opponents without visible exertion or even a detectable aura release. 16 21

  • A trace of his pressure stopped Tang San from confronting him. 4
  • Immobilized Ning Rongrong without releasing detectable aura, shocking Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo. 16
  • Forced Yu Xiaogang to his knees and shattered his kneecaps through Soul Pressure. 21
  • Used pressure to silence and suffocate Yu Xiaogang after he escalated his threats. 22
  • Resisted Xiao Wu’s Charm completely and subdued her Teleportation ambush immediately. 8
  • Prevented the Sky Azure Bull Python and Titan Giant Ape from self-destructing their Soul Rings. 54
  • Restrained Gu Yuena from pursuing Shura God in order to prevent a larger divine escalation. 98

Equipment / Items

  • Soul Tool — Used to store Ah Yin’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor right leg soul bone after Tang Hao surrendered it as compensation. 26
  • Ah Yin’s Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Soul Bone — A Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bone taken from Tang Hao; its possession becomes one of Tang San’s major grievances against Ye Qingtian. 26 29
  • Gu Yuena’s Dragon Scale — A silver scale given to Ye Qingtian by Gu Yuena as a means of contacting her while she explores the human world. 75

Relationships

  • Qian Renxue — His protected charge, student, and closest companion. She treats him as “Grandpa Tian,” relies on him emotionally, and considers him her most dependable support. After receiving two Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Rings, she reaches level 83 and begins preparations for the Angel’s Nine Trials under Ye Qingtian’s guidance. 1 31 46 56 107
  • Qian Daoliu — A fellow Demigod and Spirit Hall’s Grand Worshipper. Ye Qingtian belongs to an older generation and stands above him in both authority and practical strength. Qian Daoliu respects his orders to initiate Qian Renxue’s Angel inheritance trials. 1 22 107
  • Bibi Dong — A hostile political rival within Spirit Hall. Ye Qingtian kills Yu Xiaogang, destroys Yue Guan and Gui Mei’s bodies, and publicly wounds Bibi Dong after she provokes him. Gu Yuena later destroys Bibi Dong’s Death Spider Emperor Martial Soul, reducing her to approximately level 72, while Ye Qingtian states that her ultimate fate has already been arranged. 24 40 42 94 116
  • Yue Guan and Gui Mei — Former Spirit Hall elders who defied Ye Qingtian to follow Bibi Dong’s orders. After their bodies are destroyed and souls bound to the Human Emperor Banner, they become intelligence agents for Qian Renxue. 39 40 46
  • Xiao Wu — His captive after her attempted ambush. Ye Qingtian exposes her as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit and intends to use her soul ring for Qian Renxue’s advancement. Tang Hao briefly rescues her during their wager, but Ye Qingtian immediately recaptures her and returns her to Qian Renxue’s custody. 8 10 27 114
  • Ning Rongrong — Her false accusation against him begins the Heaven Dou conflict. Ye Qingtian demands sincere accountability and enforces her humiliating kneeling punishment after Sword Douluo loses their wager. 1 16 18 26
  • Gu Yuena — A powerful Soul Beast sovereign whom Ye Qingtian initially seeks to compel into cooperation. After witnessing possible futures through the Golden River and confirming that his arrow healed her injuries, she becomes his equal partner, abandons the Beast Tide, and accompanies him into the human world. 47 50 52 53 55
  • Tang HaoTang San’s father and the Clear Sky Douluo. Ye Qingtian accepted his life-for-Xiao Wu wager, allowed him to take Xiao Wu temporarily, then used the Sunset Bow to defeat and kill him. 109 110 112 114
  • Tang Chen — The former Clear Sky Douluo and incomplete inheritor of Shura God’s power. Ye Qingtian recognizes Tang Chen as a Demigod-level ally sent to support Tang San but considers him insufficiently threatening to address immediately. 106 107
  • Shura God — A former adversary from Ye Qingtian’s God Realm campaign. Ye Qingtian openly rejects Shura God’s authority over Douluo Continent, forces him to retreat after threatening him with the Human Emperor Banner and Black Demon Dragon, and later confronts him again in the God Realm. 96 98 130 141
  • Golden Dragon King — A sealed divine beast whom Ye Qingtian considers a potential instrument for destabilizing the God Realm. After entering the Divine Forbidden Land, Ye Qingtian subdues him completely. 116 140
  • Poseidon — A hostile God Realm deity who objects to Ye Qingtian’s actions in the Divine Forbidden Land. Ye Qingtian dismisses his divine status and threatens to erase him for disrespect. 141 148
