Background / History
Tang San is a reincarnated individual who retains memories of another world and his former life as a Tang Sect assassin. He possesses Twin Martial Souls, a talent that later becomes central to the plans of both Ning Fengzhi and the Shura God. 29 45 65
He initially does not know the identity of his father, Tang Hao. After Ning Fengzhi reveals that Tang Hao is the Clear Sky Douluo, Tang San’s confidence and bearing visibly change. 12 13 He later learns that his mother, Ah Yin, was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Transformed Soul Beast whose sacrifice enabled Tang Hao’s breakthrough to Titled Douluo. Ah Yin’s right-leg Soul Bone was surrendered to Ye Qingtian as compensation for Tang San’s conduct. 26 28 29
Tang Hao explains that Ah Yin’s original body became a seed after her sacrifice and was replanted, potentially allowing her to cultivate and transform again after another hundred thousand years. Tang San is devastated by both the loss of her Soul Bone and the possibility that she may not retain her memories if she returns. 29
Personality
Tang San is intensely attached to Xiao Wu and repeatedly allows concern for her to override caution. When she is captured, he directs his anger at Ning Rongrong and Oscar, despite having acted independently himself in the past. 11 He later attempts to excuse Xiao Wu’s Eight-Stage Throw on the grounds that she failed, while disregarding the technique’s potentially lethal consequences. 19
He is persistent, ambitious, and highly confident in his own future. He believes his Twin Martial Souls make him suited to inherit Sky Bow Douluo’s legacy and later accepts the possibility of inheriting two God King positions. 58 129 This confidence repeatedly becomes overconfidence: he assumes Sky Bow Douluo will support him against Ye Qingtian without knowing the legendary archer’s motives or realizing that Sky Bow Douluo and Ye Qingtian are the same person. 57 58 106 112
Tang San is willing to use alliances and large-scale coercion to pursue his objectives. He proposes cooperation with Bibi Dong and considers provoking a beast tide against the Heaven Dou Empire to pressure Ye Qingtian over Xiao Wu. 44 45 His attempt to pressure the Shura God into personally killing Ye Qingtian instead earns him divine suppression and a warning to know his place as a mortal. 100 101
After Tang Hao’s death, Tang San’s grief becomes hatred toward Ye Qingtian and resentment toward Tang Chen, whose rescue plan led to the failed confrontation. Though he outwardly promises to recover, he privately resolves to pursue strength primarily for revenge and Xiao Wu’s rescue. 114 118

- Gu Yuena identifies his reliance on hidden weapons as one of his defining combat habits. 66
Divine Inheritance
After Tang Hao’s death and repeated defeats by Ye Qingtian’s faction, Tang San chooses the dangerous path of “Offering One’s Body to the God” as his route to godhood. 120 128
- The Shura God praises his willingness to accept the risk and offers him two future God King positions. 128
- Tang Chen, who lost his own qualification for the Shura Godhood, is ordered to assist Tang San through the eight Shura trials. 129
- Tang San has accepted the arrangement, but has not yet completed the Shura inheritance. 129
Relationships
- Xiao Wu — Tang San’s most precious person and the central motive behind his conflicts with Ye Qingtian. Her imprisonment drives his rescue schemes, alliances, and pursuit of power. 11 22 114
- Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao repeatedly protects Tang San, disciplines him for provoking Ye Qingtian, sacrifices Ah Yin’s Soul Bone for him, and ultimately dies during an attempt to rescue Xiao Wu. 25 28 110 114
- Ah Yin — Mother. A Hundred-Thousand-Year Transformed Soul Beast whose sacrifice aided Tang Hao’s rise; Tang San regards the loss of her Soul Bone as a personal and familial outrage. 28 29
- Tang Chen — Great-grandfather and former Clear Sky Douluo. Tang Chen becomes Tang San’s adviser and Shura-trial guide, though Tang San secretly blames him for Tang Hao’s death. 102 118 129
- Yu Xiaogang — Teacher. Tang San relies heavily on Yu Xiaogang’s authority during the Xiao Wu crisis and remains motivated to avenge his death. 19 45
- Ning Fengzhi — Supporter and political backer. Ning Fengzhi commits the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to Tang San because of his perceived potential and his daughter’s involvement in the crisis. 44 45
- Bibi Dong — Former ally of convenience. Tang San forms a secret pact with her against Ye Qingtian, but Bibi Dong ends their cooperation after seeing him try to manipulate the Shura God. 45 101
- Gu Yuena — Hostile adversary. She publicly humiliates Tang San, prevents his hidden-weapon attack, and treats him as a future tool for Qian Renxue’s growth rather than an immediate target for execution. 66 70
- Ye Qingtian — Primary enemy. Tang San blames him for Xiao Wu’s captivity, Tang Hao’s death, and the collapse of his allies’ plans; he swears to surpass or kill him. 68 114 118
- Shura God — Divine patron and prospective mentor. Though the Shura God initially rebukes Tang San’s presumption, he later selects him for the Shura Godhood and a second God King inheritance. 100 101 128 129

Xiao Wu’s Capture
After Xiao Wu is taken following her attack on Ye Qingtian, Tang San reacts with immediate rage and directs blame toward Ning Rongrong. He attempts to demand Xiao Wu’s release himself, but Ye Qingtian exposes the danger of her Eight-Stage Throw and rejects Tang San’s claim that she should be forgiven because the attack failed. 11 19
Tang San’s defiance brings severe consequences for his family. Tang Hao publicly beats him, apologizes to Ye Qingtian, and eventually hands over Ah Yin’s Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Bone to secure temporary forgiveness. 25 26
Building an Anti-Ye Qingtian Alliance
Unable to directly oppose Ye Qingtian, Tang San seeks support from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Spirit Hall, the Star Dou Great Forest’s soul-beast overlords, and potentially the Star Luo Empire. 44 45 65 He proposes using a beast tide to pressure the Heaven Dou Empire, a plan Bibi Dong accepts because it could endanger Qian Renxue’s position and force Ye Qingtian to respond. 45
The Search for Sky Bow Douluo
Tang San interprets the appearance of a vast bow-shaped phenomenon over the Star Dou Great Forest as Sky Bow Douluo’s return. He becomes convinced that the legendary archer is Ye Qingtian’s enemy and could provide the strength needed to rescue Xiao Wu. 56 57
Despite Sword Douluo’s warnings, Tang San insists the “enemy of my enemy is my friend” and vows to claim any inheritance Sky Bow Douluo has left behind. 57 58 This plan collapses when he learns that Ye Qingtian himself possesses the Sunset Bow and is Sky Bow Douluo. 106 112 114
Conflict with Gu Yuena
Gu Yuena confronts Tang San at Shrek Academy, overwhelms him with her aura, slaps him, and cuts off a finger when he considers using hidden weapons against her. 66 Her intervention results in Liu Erlong’s death when Liu Erlong attacks in Tang San’s defense. 67
Tang San later joins Tang Hao, Bibi Dong, and Yu Yuanzhen in a plan to target Gu Yuena for her Soul Bone and Spirit Ring, though Gu Yuena already knows of their intentions. 83 86 94
Tang Hao’s Final Rescue Attempt
After Tang Chen trains Tang Hao in the Great Sumeru Hammer and Ring Detonation, Tang San supports a final attempt to rescue Xiao Wu from Ye Qingtian. 104 105 108 Tang Hao uses Nine-Ring Detonation and wagers his life on the rescue, but Ye Qingtian defeats him completely. 110 114
Tang San witnesses his father disintegrate into light and watches Xiao Wu be recaptured through Ye Qingtian’s spatial power. He responds by swearing vengeance against Ye Qingtian. 114
Path to Godhood
Following the failure of mortal alliances and the death of Tang Hao, Tang San concludes that ordinary cultivation cannot close the gap with Ye Qingtian. He resolves to pursue Offering One’s Body to the God and is subsequently offered the Shura Godhood plus a second God King position by the Shura God. 120 128 129
