Dao Xuan helped establish the Netherworld, protected the Human Tribe, and prepared for the Witch-Demon war, which ended with the deaths of the leading Witches and demons and the damage to Heaven and Earth. He defeated Hongjun, secured the Chaos Bell, and became Deputy Sect Master of the Mysterious Sect.

• Dao Xuan helped Houtu establish the Netherworld, appointed Minghe to oversee the Eighteen Levels of Hell, and created Boundless Heaven as his own Middle Thousand World.
• Dao Xuan stopped Dijun and Taiyi from harming the Human Tribe, but Zhunti freed the Ten Golden Crow Princes, who burned the Primordial Land and killed Kuafu before Dayi shot down nine of them.
• Houtu rescued Dayi, and Dao Xuan gave her eleven purple flowers to preserve her siblings’ true spirits as Dijun and Taiyi prepared for war.
• Dijun and Taiyi began the final battle against Dijiang and the Ancestral Witches, whose formations collapsed amid heavy losses on both sides.
• Dijun, Taiyi, and the Ancestral Witches died in the ensuing fighting, while Gonggong broke Mount Buzhou and damaged the Heavenly Pillar.
• Hongjun and the Saints repaired Heaven and Earth, while Dao Xuan took the Chaos Bell and defeated Hongjun in a duel.
• Hongjun confirmed that the Chaos Bell belonged to Dao Xuan and invited him to Zixiao Palace, where Dao Xuan accepted the position of Deputy Sect Master of the Mysterious Sect.
