The next day.

Heiduo left Michina, with five reluctant children behind him.

He had already stayed in Michina for two days. It was time to visit Celestic Town.

There had naturally been no suspense in the battle, even though the White Demon Pachirisu Heiduo had used was only newly caught.

It was a cute Pokémon with white-and-blue fur and two yellow electricity-storing sacs on its cheeks.

The circumstances of catching the little fellow had been quite coincidental.

—it had fallen from the sky.

Apparently, a Staraptor and a Staravia had snatched the berries it had just picked twice in a row. With its fierce temperament, it had directly hooked its tail around their claws, trying to take them back.

Wasn't that just asking for trouble? Of all things to hook, why hook their claws?

How was that any different from delivering itself straight into someone else's mouth as meat?

Well, Pachirisu was based on a squirrel, while Staraptor was based on a Philippine eagle. It was practically prey launching a suicidal charge at a predator, raising the banner of defying the food chain.

Pachirisu's advantage was its Electric type.

Staraptor, meanwhile, was a Flying type.

Unfortunately, the two Flying-type Pokémon were quite clever. Whenever Pachirisu tried to release electricity, they would toss it away. Once it stopped attacking out of fear or became exhausted and needed to rest, they would grab it again.

They treated it as entertainment.

But they were not gods. They were bound to make mistakes eventually.

By sheer coincidence, Staravia misjudged its distance and got hit by Pachirisu's Thunder Shock. Its muscles stiffened, and it instantly fell from the sky together with Pachirisu, landing right in front of Heiduo.

It was like a pie falling from the sky.

What followed was rather cliché.
