Background / History

Di Tian resides in the core of the Star Dou Great Forest, near the central lake where Gu Yuena rests. Although known as the Beast God, he kneels before her, addresses her as his lord, and follows her commands. Gu Yuena also protects him and intervenes when a threat exceeds what he can safely handle 4 13.

Before the Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff’s rise, Di Tian fought the Evil Eye Tyrant Ruler over Sky Dream Ice Silkworm. After losing, the Evil Emperor attempted mutual destruction, but Gu Yuena intervened and stopped him. This defeat remained a grievance that later drove the Evil Emperor to join the mastiff’s assault on Di Tian 36 37.

Appearance

  • Human form: A man over two meters tall with black wings; dragon horns are also visible when he appears 8 14.
  • True form: An enormous Black Dragon with scales, wings, horns, and a tail. His body is larger than the mastiff’s sixty-five-meter form 16 18 26.
  • Transformation: Red-and-black Soul Power envelops his humanoid body as his dragon form emerges 16.

Personality

Di Tian is fiercely protective of his companions. Zi Ji’s injuries provoke an immediate, furious response, while Bi Ji’s apparent death drives him to abandon a carefully prepared attack and charge recklessly. The mastiff repeatedly exploits this protectiveness through distractions, abductions, and attacks on his support 7 8 21 25.

His pride in the Beast God title and the Dragon Race makes him resistant to humiliation. He dismisses Xuan Zi’s warning despite their temporary alliance, insisting that cooperation does not give humans authority over soul beasts. Nevertheless, he is willing to cooperate with Shrek Academy when the mastiff becomes a shared threat 24 25.

Toward Gu Yuena, Di Tian is disciplined and deeply loyal. He requests permission before attacking, protests when the mastiff demands that she kneel for his release, and later urges her not to risk worsening her injuries to save him. Even when frightened and aware that he cannot win, he fights to defend the forest and preserve the Dragon Race’s dignity 15 27 37.

Abilities & Skills

Dragon God’s Claw

Di Tian’s ultimate technique is a divine skill personally imparted by the Dragon God. He raises his right claw to manifest an enormous golden claw overhead 21.

  • Destructive power: Capable of killing a level 99 Limit Douluo or a newly ascended level 100 divine official 26.
  • Preparation: Requires time to charge and cannot be withdrawn once launched, creating an opening that the mastiff exploits 25.
  • Energy cost: Its use leaves Di Tian severely drained, especially without Bi Ji’s healing support 26.
  • Limits: The mastiff first withstands it using the advantage gained from sacrificing two Wraith Servants. In their later battle, he bypasses it by slipping between its talons rather than overpowering it directly 26 37.

Dragon Physique and Transformation

Di Tian fights in both human and Black Dragon forms 15 16.

  • His strongest human-form punch forces the mastiff back half a step, though the opponent’s Heaven-Rending Claw leaves his knuckles numb 15.
  • His true form provides flight, dragon claws, and formidable scales 16 26.
  • His defenses are not absolute: Heaven-Rending Claw can penetrate them, and the mastiff’s upgraded claws tear open his left wing during an ambush 13 20.
  • Wing damage reduces his ability to respond to the mastiff’s rapid movements, though he remains capable of fast pursuit 21.

Perception and Knowledge

Di Tian closely monitors the forest’s major soul beasts and their expected tribulations 10.

  • Identifies an unexpected hundred-thousand-year tribulation as likely belonging to the mastiff and alerts Xiong Jun 10.
  • Immediately senses the mastiff’s unexplained rise from just over two hundred thousand years to approximately four hundred fifty thousand years 21.
  • Detects the Evil Emperor’s return and recognizes his old rival before seeing the full invading force 36.

Command of Soul Beasts

Di Tian directs ferocious beasts and numerous hundred-thousand-year followers 16 17.

  • Orders coordinated encirclement and pursuit of the mastiff 16.
  • Withdraws his forces from tribulation lightning and assigns Demon Spirit to observe from a safe distance 17.
  • Summons a beast tide against the mastiff’s alliance with the Evil Emperor and Holy Spirit Cult 36.
  • His forces are ultimately suppressed by the invaders, who capture the beasts over one hundred thousand years old 37.

Relationships

  • Gu Yuena — Sovereign and protector. Di Tian obeys her commands and defends her dignity even while gravely injured; she repeatedly intervenes to save him despite her own incomplete recovery 13 15 26 27 37.
  • Zi Ji — Mate, also described as his wife. Her injuries begin his personal conflict with the mastiff. She later attempts to rescue him after his defeat, but Xian Lin’er stops her 6 7 8 26.
  • Bi Ji — Companion and essential healer. Her support greatly extends his endurance; losing it leaves him vulnerable after using Dragon God’s Claw. He later carries the critically wounded Bi Ji toward the central lake on Gu Yuena’s orders 8 20 26 28.
  • Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff / Lei Dong — Principal enemy. Their conflict escalates from Zi Ji’s injury to the killing of Di Tian’s followers, repeated ambushes, and two decisive defeats 7 16 20 26 37.
  • Xiong Jun — Fellow ferocious beast. Di Tian alerts him to the mastiff’s location and later offers to help when his battle turns disastrous. Xiong Jun warns Di Tian that the mastiff has acquired Heaven-Rending Claw 10 13 15.
  • Demon Spirit — Former subordinate entrusted with surveillance. After becoming the mastiff’s Wraith Servant, Demon Spirit exploits Di Tian’s trust to lure him into an ambush 17 19 20.
  • Myriad Demon King — Former ally. Di Tian responds to his descendants’ distress signal, then encounters him as a regenerating spectral servant blocking Zi Ji’s rescue 19 21.
  • Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe — Temporary Shrek Academy allies against the mastiff. Their cooperation remains strained, and the threat of retaliation against Shrek’s students prevents them from saving Di Tian 24 25 26.
  • Evil Emperor — Longstanding rival. Their earlier battle and Gu Yuena’s intervention motivate his participation in the later invasion of the forest 36 37.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Pursuit of the Golden-Haired Lion Mastiff

Di Tian enters the conflict after sensing that Zi Ji has been injured and bled. His approach frightens the mastiff into retreating before a direct confrontation. He finds Zi Ji wounded and summons Bi Ji to treat her, then learns that her attacker possesses only sixty thousand years of cultivation 7 8.

He subsequently identifies the mastiff’s first tribulation and alerts Xiong Jun. When Xiong Jun is nearly killed, Di Tian offers to intervene, but Gu Yuena warns that he would suffer severe injuries and goes herself 10 13.

Encirclement and Failed Surveillance

Under Gu Yuena’s order to capture the mastiff alive, Di Tian joins the forest’s gathered ferocious beasts. His strongest human-form punch gains only a slight advantage, forcing him to reassess the opponent’s physique. He transforms into a Black Dragon, but cannot prevent the mastiff from killing and consuming his Six-Winged Dark Gold Tiger subordinate 15 16.

The mastiff’s next tribulation forces Di Tian to withdraw his army. His surveillance plan fails when Demon Spirit is devoured, converted into a Wraith Servant, and returned as an infiltrator 17 18.

Ambush and Zi Ji’s Abduction

Demon Spirit deceives Di Tian with a report that Myriad Demon King is pursuing the mastiff. The resulting ambush tears open Di Tian’s left wing and sends him crashing to the ground 19 20.

The mastiff then uses flames to draw out Dragon God’s Claw while targeting Zi Ji instead. Di Tian pursues her captor, but Demon Spirit and Myriad Demon King repeatedly regenerate after being struck apart, blocking his rescue attempt until Gu Yuena identifies their spectral nature 21.

Shrek Alliance and Near-Death Defeat

Di Tian temporarily allies with Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe to hunt the mastiff. During the confrontation, the mastiff attacks Bi Ji while Di Tian prepares Dragon God’s Claw. Her apparent death provokes a reckless charge, and the mastiff uses his Wraith Servants to disrupt the attack 24 25.

Exhausted and deprived of healing, Di Tian is overwhelmed. The mastiff breaks his jaw and horns, damages his tail and wing, and pins his head beneath a claw. Gu Yuena arrives before he can be killed 26.

Di Tian remains a hostage until Tang San’s manipulated Divine Punishment forces the mastiff to release him. After the tribulation, Gu Yuena orders Di Tian to carry the dying Bi Ji back to the central lake in hopes of saving her 27 28.

Defense of the Central Lake

When the mastiff returns with the Evil Emperor, Holy Spirit Cult experts, and divine-beast Wraith Servants, Di Tian rallies a beast tide despite his fear. The invaders suppress his forces and capture the high-level soul beasts 36 37.

Di Tian launches Dragon God’s Claw again, but the mastiff slips through its talons and pins him with a basic paw strike. As Gu Yuena rises from the lake, Di Tian urges her not to endanger herself for him, knowing that intense combat could aggravate her lingering injuries 37.
