Background and History

Founding and Primordial Era

Tan Lin founded the Human Emperor Hall after crossing into the Quasi-Emperor realm at approximately 2,100 years of age. From the Central Region of the Big Dipper, he led humanity against the myriad races and helped restore the strength of a people long oppressed during the Primordial Era. 1

The Hall transformed Tan Lin’s personal influence into a broad network of karmic connections, enabling the All-Causes Soul Pearl to accumulate causality points far more efficiently than he could alone. By age 3,000, Tan Lin had reached the peak of the Quasi-Emperor realm while the Hall handled much of his external affairs. 1

Tan Lin’s soldiers, generals, and human settlements along the Ancient Road bestowed the title Human Emperor upon him after his rise, elevating the Hall from a military organization into the principal symbol of human resistance and prestige. 20 44

Decline after the Human Emperor’s Fall

The Hall survived Tan Lin’s death for hundreds of thousands—possibly millions—of years, continuing to provide faint causality to his surviving remnant soul. Its continued existence also made it an obvious anchor point through which his enemies could wait for his return. 2 4

After the Primordial Era, the Hall suffered repeated turmoil. Its later leaders became corrupt, and the human strongholds along the Extraterrestrial Ancient Road fell. 45

Gong Xuan eventually became Hall Master. He cooperated with forces connected to the life forbidden zones in order to preserve the Hall through a period when it was near collapse, while imprisoning or sidelining old loyalists such as Dongfang Taiyi and the surviving generals. 15 20 45

The Legacy Scheme

The Hall publicized the emergence of the Human Emperor’s Legacy in the Southern Region of the Eastern Wasteland, drawing cultivators from across the Big Dipper and beyond. Its suspicious preparations led many factions to believe it was concealing a larger plan. 14 15

The supposed legacy was the Human Emperor’s former Drill Tower: a ten-story military training ground containing realm-specific trials. Human Emperor Hall members entered it safely while outsiders were killed for violating its rules, further intensifying suspicion toward the Hall. 16 17

The Hall’s old arrangements were ultimately used as bait for Tan Lin. The Xuanxiao Nine True Soul-Execution Formation was activated through its connections to locate his remnant soul, with Gong Xuan acting under pressure from forbidden-zone Supremes. 20

Return of the Human Emperor

The Undying Daoist later turned the Hall into a soul-killing trap, spreading Soul Spirit Pond water throughout its grounds and engraving dense soul-suppressing formations around an ancient well. 39

Tan Lin infiltrated the Hall, reached the inner chamber, and reclaimed the largest fragment of his true soul from the Human Emperor Banner. His temporary restoration as the Human Emperor caused the Hall’s cultivators and civilians to recognize and worship their returned founder. 40 42

Afterward, Tan Lin chose not to purge the Hall for its decline. He accepted that later generations had survived under circumstances he could not simply judge, spared Gong Xuan’s restrained followers, and allowed the Hall’s cultivators to choose whether to remain or depart with the Ziwei lineage. 45 46

Organization and Facilities

Human Emperor Banner

The Human Emperor Banner is the Hall’s foremost symbol and the traditional mark of its Hall Master.

• It was originally Tan Lin’s battle banner, rather than an Emperor-level weapon of enlightenment. 16
• A fragment of Tan Lin’s true soul entered it after his death, creating a divine spirit. 16
• It can gather the heroic souls of fallen soldiers and generals. 16
• Gong Xuan used the banner to execute seven Saint-realm officials who had colluded in releasing the Human Demon; its astral winds destroyed both their bodies and primordial spirits. 15
• Tan Lin reclaimed the banner and its soul fragment during his return, then entrusted it to Suiren Hong of the Ziwei Human King lineage for safekeeping. 42 46

Drill Tower

The Drill Tower, publicly called the Human Emperor’s Legacy or Immortal Palace, was a former Human Emperor military training ground.

• It contains ten internal worlds, each corresponding to a cultivation realm and designed to temper soldiers, generals, formations, and individual combat ability. 17
• The lowest floor is the safest entry point; cultivators may enter a floor corresponding to their own realm, but improper entry can trigger lethal defenses. 17
• The tenth floor was Tan Lin’s ultimate proving ground, where he once sought the true harmony of Lunar and Solar power before converting it into a trial for his strongest generals. 36
• Bronze puppets enforce the tower’s rules and can instantly kill violators. 27
• A Mystic Platform beneath the tower could create a temporary spatial passage that bypassed restrictions below Great Emperor-level formations. 22

Central Plains Headquarters

The Hall’s Central Plains headquarters is a vast palace complex built over concealed facilities and formations.

• Its Dao platform concealed an underground divine-source prison holding Dongfang Taiyi, the Human Demon, bound by nine chains. 15
• The inner hall housed the restricted Human Emperor Banner. Heaven-Suppressing patterns were used to suppress the banner when it resisted Gong Xuan. 15
• An ancient well at the center of the complex became the eye of a massive soul-killing formation prepared by the Undying Daoist to capture Tan Lin. 39
