Background / History

Chu Zhao was abandoned outside Holy Soul Village at age three and supported by Old Jack for the next three years. At her martial soul awakening, Su Yuntao mistook her black-and-red Death God Scythe for an ordinary Farm Tool Scythe and judged her Innate Soul Power to be only level one. The Death God Cultivation System and Farming and Wellness System activated during the assessment. 1

While growing up, she gathered and trained children with low Innate Soul Power rather than accepting the continent's view that they were talentless. Her reserve team became the core of Cloud Peak Academy, which was upgraded into an advanced Soul Master Academy and qualified for the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament. 26

Chu Zhao secured powerful backing for Cloud Peak Academy by curing Dugu Yan and Dugu Bo's hereditary poison cultivation defects. At her awakening, Chu Zhao's Death God Scythe had a black base streaked with red patterns, a long thin blade, and a cold, sinister aura that distinguished it from ordinary scythes. 1
