History

Shrek Academy initially enjoys a public image as an institution that follows the “righteous path.” Tang San cites the academy’s reputation while defending Yu Xiaogang at the opening of the Hypocrite Rankings 1.

That image begins to fail when Headmaster Flender publicly minimizes Dai Mubai’s abandonment of Zhu Zhuqing as “youthful recklessness.” The Sky Screen judges Flender’s defense as accomplice behavior and forcibly deducts one rank of his Soul Power 2.

Yu Xiaogang’s exposure further damages the academy. Footage shows him working from texts associated with Spirit Hall, the Star Luo Royal Family, and the Clear Sky Sect while presenting the resulting material as his own research; Flender’s attempted defense falters after the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan confirms Yu’s theft of clan records 5. Shrek’s students subsequently question whether Yu’s theories were truly responsible for their accomplishments 9.

The academy’s crisis becomes irreversible after Tang San’s treatment of Xiao Wu, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun is exposed. Flender condemns Tang San for raising a companion “like livestock,” while Oscar and Ma Hongjun formally leave the Shrek Seven Devils 15 16. Suotuo City residents destroy the academy’s sign, and the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament removes Shrek Team because it no longer meets the minimum active-member requirement 16.

Heaven’s Will also reduces Shrek Team’s fortune value to zero. Spirit Hall announces a general offensive against Tang San and his accomplices, and an enormous divine punishment sword shadow points toward the academy 16. Xiao Wu’s later beauty-ranking broadcast renews outside attention to Shrek: Bibi Dong orders surveillance of the academy and Xiao Wu’s capture, while Ning Fengzhi sends Chen Xin there out of concern for Ning Rongrong 29.

The broadcasts initially offer the academy a more glorious future through Xuan Zi, Mu En, and Huo Yuhao. Later revelations complicate that legacy by exposing the future Enforcement Hall’s protection of students who attack Jiang Nannan, followed by the Sea God Pavilion’s coercive control over resources, military deployment, and technological education 37 40 42 50 70 71.

Hypocrite Rankings

Shrek Academy is repeatedly used as the setting from which Dai Mubai, Yu Xiaogang, Tang San, and their companions respond to the Sky Screen’s accusations. Its name becomes tied to Flender’s protection of Dai and to Yu Xiaogang’s discredited academic reputation 2 5.

The exposure of the Golden Iron Triangle also affects its staff personally. Flender learns that Yu Xiaogang manipulated Liu Erlong’s admiration and benefited from her resources while refusing to acknowledge their relationship, undermining his longstanding trust in his friend 8.

Tang San’s Exposure and the Team’s Collapse

The academy becomes the center of Tang San’s unraveling. Xiao Wu confronts him after his tactical simulations label her bait, while Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong physically keep her away from him 13. After Tang San’s plan to use Xiao Wu as a future soul ring is exposed, Zhu Zhuqing returns his hidden weapons and Ning Rongrong discards his pendant 15.

Tang San’s distribution of immortal herbs finally breaks the remaining team. The Sky Screen reveals that he reserved the safest, god-physique-enhancing herbs for himself while accepting irreversible harmful outcomes for Oscar and Ma Hongjun; both denounce him and withdraw 16.

The tournament committee cites Article 7, Clause 3 when stripping Shrek Team of eligibility because its active membership falls below the required minimum. Flender watches residents destroy the academy’s plaque without intervening, recognizing that preserving the sign cannot repair its reputation 16.

Future Legacy

Ten thousand years later, Shrek Academy is revealed as a powerful institution rather than a neglected local school. Xuan Zi, its Rank 98 future dean, confronts more than 150,000 Sun Moon Empire troops alone and devours their Soul Tool attacks with the Taotie Avatar 37.

Mu En, master of the Sea God Pavilion, remains Shrek’s guardian despite a broken spine. He forces the Rank 98 Du Bisou and the Body Sect to retreat, then later rises during a beast tide to lead Shrek’s defense with the command: “Shrek, fight to the death. Never retreat.” 40

Huo Yuhao is also a future Shrek student. Though initially a Level 11 freshman who sells grilled fish, he is revealed as the future top-ranked powerhouse: a Rank 99 Ultimate Douluo, Level 10 Soul Engineer, and inheritor of the God of Emotions’ First-Level Godhood 42.

The future academy nevertheless faces capable rivals. Meng Hongchen, a fifteen-year-old Soul King of the Sun Moon Empire, defeats the Shrek students opposing her in three moves 43. Xiao Xiao’s subsequent review restores the present-era students’ pride by showing her defeat three upperclassmen with coordinated flute-and-cauldron attacks, then overcome five opponents using soundwaves and divided cauldrons 44.

Future student life is also shown through Tang Wutong’s residence under the alias Wang Dong. She shares a dormitory with Huo Yuhao for three years, trains alongside him, and discovers their 100% Martial Soul compatibility during a fight against five upperclassmen. At graduation, she reveals herself as Wang Dong’er 53.

Teaching, Protection, and the Enforcement Hall Scandal

Zhou Yi’s review presents a positive example of Shrek’s future teaching. Despite her intimidating manner, she allows an exhausted student to rest, promises to adjust his cultivation method, and patiently provides detailed instruction. Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong recognize her genuine care for them 45.

Ma Xiaotao similarly embodies the academy’s protective ideal. As an Inner Court senior and leader of the Shrek Seven Devils, she welcomes new students as family and promises to defend them. She rescues a young Huo Yuhao from bullying, takes him to the infirmary, guides his cultivation, and urges him to protect the weak, even while suffering violent Evil Fire Phoenix backlash herself 48.

Jiang Nannan’s review exposes the gap between such personal protection and institutional conduct. At fourteen, she is cornered and attacked by three students in the Inner Court before Xu Sanshi intervenes. When she reports the incident, Enforcement Hall stewards question whether she is making a false accusation, repeat the attackers’ claim that she seduced them, and blame her for being alone late at night and allegedly improperly dressed 50.

Shen Yueliang comforts Jiang Nannan afterward. The Sky Screen states that Jiang Nannan loses faith in institutional fairness and instead trusts strength and the people who genuinely protect her. At sixteen, she defeats a Five-Ring Soul King, while continuing to show kindness toward others 49 50.

The present-era students condemn the scandal. Zhu Zhuqing identifies it as protection through power, and Tang San states that an academy behaving in that way does not deserve the Shrek name 50.

Regret Rankings and Challenges to Shrek’s Reputation

Qin Ming appears as a Shrek prodigy in the Regret Rankings. The broadcast shows him leading frightened students in Shrek uniforms through an ambush and placing himself between them and Ghost Douluo. Flender identifies Qin Ming as a Soul Saint, emphasizing the disparity between him and the Titled Douluo threatening the group 54.

Another review complicates the academy’s side of the conflict with Spirit Hall. Xie Yue, injured and at the Soul Douluo level, protects young, low-ranking Spirit Hall Soul Masters from a Shrek-aligned force that outnumbers them three to one and is led by a Titled Douluo 58.

During the rewritten Battle of Jialing Pass broadcast, Xuan Zi fears that Tang San’s defeat will destroy the foundations of Shrek’s claim to be the continent’s foremost academy, since it has praised him as a savior for ten thousand years. Yan Shaozhe attempts to attack the Sky Screen in anger but is repelled into a stone pillar 60.

The balance of power also turns against the present-era Shrek faction after Spirit Hall receives Heavenly rewards. Hu Liena’s strengthened spiritual power traps nearby ordinary Shrek students in illusions and knocks Xiao Wu unconscious. When Spirit Hall’s elders and consecrators release their pressure, Demon Subduing Douluo breaks Flender’s manifested owl wings and sends him crashing into the mud 64.

Glory, Obedience, and Institutional Dominance

A later future-era review shows the immense Shrek City and establishes the academy as an independent power while the Tang Sect has declined. Huo Yuhao repeatedly fights for the academy and suffers backlash as spectators chant for Shrek’s victory. Oscar and Flender question how the institution’s glory obscures the injuries borne by the student earning it 67.

The Sky Screen describes this relationship as one in which Shrek gives Huo Yuhao glory while also dictating the person he should become. Bibi Dong interprets it as exchanging honor for obedience 67.

The subsequent institutional exposé reveals that Shrek controls numerous Soul Master resources, accepts tribute from other powers, and possesses the continent’s strongest Soul Master training system. Shops close and imperial soldiers give way as its personnel pass through the streets, while the Sea God Pavilion operates outside the authority of imperial decrees 70.

When an imperial envoy requests reinforcements against the Sun Moon Empire after three cities have fallen, academy elders insist that border affairs belong to the empire. They nevertheless refuse to release students for military service without Sea God Pavilion approval, retaining control of deployment while disclaiming responsibility for the war 70 71.

The Sky Screen condemns the future academy as an institution that obstructs progress to preserve its own dominance and absolute faith in Tang San. Flender and Zhao Wuji distinguish this conduct from their original aim of teaching talented students to survive and protect others, with Flender describing the academy’s inherited signboard as having become a barrier against those seeking education 70 71.

Suppression of Soul Guidance Technology

The future academy publicly opposes the spread of soul guidance technology on the stated grounds that it seeks quick results and endangers Soul Masters. Records show that it repeatedly rejects the Soul Guidance Technology Institute’s requests to teach public classes, requiring Sea God Pavilion permission before any instruction can proceed 70.

A young applicant carrying blueprints is pushed down outside the academy, and a gatekeeper steps on his work. The design is annotated as operable even with a commoner’s insufficient Soul Power. An elder demands the complete core for review, while the boy fears that surrendering it will lead to its classification as a forbidden technique and his own detention 70 71.

The academy’s conditions for reconsidering public instruction include filing all core blueprints with the Sea God Pavilion, subjecting instructors to Soul Master rank review, and forbidding manufacturers from teaching privately. The imperial envoy exposes records rejecting public instruction, imperial core-sharing, and the mass production of border shields while approving internal Sea God Pavilion research 71.

The register’s final seal reserves core technology exclusively for the Sea God Pavilion and threatens violators with expulsion from the continent’s Soul Master system. Additional records show that the public release of civilian Soul Tools has been postponed. These documents establish that Shrek’s restrictions protect its monopoly rather than amounting to a general rejection of the technology 71.

Tang San defends the Pavilion as preventing dangerous technology from spreading, but Ning Rongrong challenges him to produce evidence supporting that justification. Huo Yuhao and He Caitou reject the suppression of civilian access, with He Caitou resolving to complete the unfinished core rather than let the academy use it to exclude more people. The broadcast ends with the boy completing its final runes and aiming the Soul Tool at the Sea God statue in the council hall 71.

Alternate Histories Without Shrek’s Legend

A what-if broadcast depicts a continent without Shrek in which Spirit Hall expands commoner access to cultivation. Monthly awakenings, funded academy tuition and lodging, cultivation materials, and Titled Douluo-led soul-hunting teams replace dependence on noble patronage. Oscar contrasts academies’ control of resources with their public distribution, while Ma Hongjun asks what institutional advantage Shrek has left under that arrangement 61.

A separate hypothetical examines a world in which Tang San never transmigrated. Shrek fails to qualify for the tournament finals, while Feng Xiaotian, Shui Bing’er, and Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation demonstrate the strength of native geniuses. Without the outside techniques and immortal herbs associated with Tang San, Ma Hongjun dies from Evil Fire backlash and Oscar reaches only Soul Elder rank. The Sky Screen concludes that the Shrek Seven Devils’ legend does not survive the removal of those advantages; Yu Xiaogang objects that the scenario is hypothetical 63.

Parallel-World Shrek and Tang Sanniang

The parallel-world broadcasts present another Shrek Academy as a dilapidated village school with a crooked sign. Zhao Wuji conducts Tang Sanniang’s entrance examination, only for her modified needle attack to break his defenses and her giant pink hammer to strike him into a crater 77.

Bi Donghai subsequently orders Chrysanthemum Overlord and Gui Mei’er to attack Suotuo City, destroy Shrek Academy, and capture Yu Meinian and Tang Sanniang alive for his wedding. A force of thirty thousand Muscleman Soul Masters sets out toward the city; the order is shown as a threat rather than a completed destruction of the academy 79.

Tang Sanniang and her companions register at the Suotuo Great Soul Arena as the Shrek Seven Fairies. They defeat the Kuang Zhan Team in their first team battle, leaving all seven opponents crouched on the ground 80 81. Tang Sanniang later defeats Yu Tianjiao on Shrek’s behalf, drawing recruitment schemes, investigations, and assassination plans from major powers before returning to the academy 84.

Other parallel tournament scenes show Shrek members fleeing the arena amid confrontations involving rival teams, followed by a finals broadcast in which the remaining Shrek members are incapacitated and the referee tentatively calls Spirit Hall Academy the winner before the screen changes 91 92.

A subsequent review shows eight-ringed Hu Lienan defeating Tang Sanniang, shattering her Eight Spider Lances, and securing Shrek’s elimination in the opening match 96. In a later broadcast, however, Tang Sanniang wins and Shrek Academy is explicitly declared champion of the entire continent. These parallel-world results are distinct from the original Shrek Team’s disqualification following Oscar and Ma Hongjun’s withdrawal 16 97.
