Facing Roy at his most uncivilized, the three women opposite him showed different expressions.
The tiny Mia frowned at Roy's lack of manners. Her still-childish face was filled with displeasure, and her lips twitched as though she wanted to snap back at him directly.
The quiet Cho Chang's eyes widened. She immediately shifted her gaze from the handsome, shy young man Cedric to the openly hostile Roy, her face full of disbelief. She first looked at Roy, who was paying her no attention at all, then at Dia, whom Roy was confronting so aggressively, before quietly taking a strange step back.
"Uh... were you asking me?"
Dia, whom Roy was confronting so aggressively, was equally shocked. Unable to keep up her composure, she gave an awkward, gentle, embarrassed smile and took two steps back.
"Uh... I'm Dia Jobana, Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for next term. Uh... I don't mean any harm. Sorry."
It seemed this young woman really was easygoing. Even in the face of Roy's overwhelming hostility, she remained calm and friendly. But that appeared to be the limit. Seeing that their young professor for next term was preparing to flee from the menacing Roy, Cedric stood nearby in dismay.
Cedric had a headache. Before school had even started, he had already left a bad impression on his professor for next term. And Cho Chang probably thought he and Roy were in cahoots by now. While there was still a chance to salvage things, Cedric anxiously spoke to Roy, trying to smooth things over.
"What are you doing, Roy? She's our professor next term. Hurry up and apologize!"
