Nature and Authority

The Heavenly Dao governs the established order of the world: the cycles of life and death, the movement of stars, the rise and fall of dynasties, fate, karma, cultivation tribulations, and the laws of heaven and earth 566.

The term does not always describe one undifferentiated authority over every world. Individual realms and Immortal Domains possess their own Heavenly Dao. A Heavenly Dao True Immortal receives the blessing of an Immortal Domain's Heavenly Dao rather than that of the entire Immortal Realm, while the Greater Realm and Eternal Immortal Realm can impose distinct heavenly punishments during the same resurrection attempt 417 1106.

It can recognize cultivators who attempt to act beyond ordinary limits. Su Qingyun's Way of Deception could conceal him from the Heavenly Dao temporarily, but his effort to reverse space-time and revive True Person Yun He exposed his Dao, prompting immediate heavenly punishment 1106.

Its authority is formidable but not absolute against sufficiently powerful cultivators. Immortal Lords can command a realm's Heavenly Dao and rewrite its laws, Su Bai can silence a local Heavenly Dao, and the Heavenly Dao of the Ninefold Firmament was subject to an artificial seal imposed through the Road to Heaven 500 591 1001. Su Bai's later intervention caused the Heavenly Dao to yield during True Person Yun He's resurrection 1107.

The Human Realm's elevation into an Eternal Realm is explicitly recognized by the Heavenly Dao, giving the realm greater standing among the major realms 1274. Its authority also extends to the redistribution of realms' Origin and Fortune following defeat in the Emperor Path Strife 1312.

Tribulation Punishment

The Heavenly Dao can impose destructive punishment on those it detects defying its restrictions.

• Interrupted Su Qingyun's attempt to revive True Person Yun He through Reverse Space-Time 1106.
• Sent tribulation lightning and Taboo power strong enough to halt the resurrection and disperse Yun He's returning phantom 1106.
• Could be deceived only temporarily by Su Qingyun's Way of Deception; once Su Qingyun's Dao was recognized, concealment failed 1106.
• The Greater Realm's Heavenly Dao manifested dark clouds, overwhelming pressure, and black lightning when Su Bai's Second True Self reached into the River of Time 1106.

The Way of Deception is particularly vulnerable to discovery. Su Qingyun understood that another person learning the truth of his Dao would allow the Heavenly Dao to know it as well, and True Person Yun He warned that the Heavenly Dao would not permit such a path to exist 1092. Nevertheless, Su Qingyun had previously deceived heavenly perception and Fate's tracks to advance, including deceiving the Human Realm's Heavenly Dao to pass the Immortalization Tribulation 1093.

Heavenly Dao Fortune

The Heavenly Dao's Fortune can manifest through the Heavenly Dao Stele of the Eternal Immortal Realm.

• The stele is condensed from Heavenly Dao Fortune rather than connected to the Heavenly Dao Sect despite sharing its name 1019.
• Its rankings change as the fortunes of recorded heaven's prides rise, fall, brighten, or fade 1019.
• Rankings account for talent, comprehension, Fortune, Dao Heart, and other factors. Wu Wushuang's name entered the list and rapidly climbed into the top ten 1019.
• The Heavenly Dao Ranking directly manifests the Eternal Immortal Realm Heavenly Dao's will. It evaluates battle records, progress within the Immortal King Realm, Great Dao foundation, combat limits, and future potential rather than tournament points or the influence of one's background 1138.

• Golden Immortals' Word-Manifestation Law is a right bestowed by the Heavenly Dao within a certain range, rather than proof that they have independently mastered the power of laws 591.
• When a local Heavenly Dao falls silent, those bestowed law privileges can fail. The Ethereal Golden Immortal twice attempted Word-Manifestation Law against the Azure Sky Realm's inhabitants without harming them after Su Bai silenced its Heavenly Dao 591.

• Fairy Qingyue's Eye of the Heavenly Dao distinguishes good and evil according to alignment with the people's hearts and the will of heaven and earth, rather than personal preference 854.
• Through her eyes, people appear black, white, or gold. Wanton slaughter of innocents deepens black coloration, while kindness and concern for all living beings bring a person closer to gold 854.
