Kong Tried to Make Peace, but Was Stopped by the Droplet?!
Kong hurried over anxiously. The moment he reached the entrance, he saw that the Navy's top brass were all present. Even Garp, that troublemaker, was there, barely holding back his laughter.
Kong's face immediately darkened, and he stepped forward.
Sure enough, when he looked inside, he saw Lynn holding Saint Charlos up and slapping him viciously across the face!
"Aren't you tough? Didn't you want my life? If I don't beat you half to death today, then my name isn't Lynn!"
Lynn had been holding this anger in all the way here. Charlos had tried to block his path to technological advancement, cut off his funding, and even shot at him to take his life?
If he had already mastered Four Emperors-level Water Drop Technology, Lynn might truly have beaten Charlos to death. But killing him now would only cause too much trouble.
"Sengoku, are you just going to stand there and watch!?"
Kong frowned deeply and could not help questioning Sengoku, Garp, and the Three Admirals, who were all standing at the door watching the show.
Those bastards were even holding back their laughter instead of helping!
"No, Mr. Kong. We have no authority to intervene in the Holy Land. Besides, both sides are World Nobles. Even if we stepped in, it would be useless."
Sengoku coughed lightly and spread his hands.
In truth, Sengoku and the other Marines wanted to be on good terms with Lynn. They were eyeing that floating Droplet covetously, so why would they go up and help?
Besides, for a Celestial Dragon like Charlos, they would rather see him beaten into some kind of trouble.
"You... sigh..."
Kong was left speechless. After glaring at them, he could only walk inside himself.
Earlier, he had been drawn in by the sight of Lynn beating Charlos at the entrance and had failed to notice the huge hole in the wall or the Droplet behind Lynn. Now he noticed them, but still did not pay them much attention.
When the other Celestial Dragons saw that the World Government's Commander-in-Chief had arrived, they all turned their attention toward him. The terror in their eyes eased somewhat.
"Kong! Make him stop! Let my son go!"
Roswald seemed to see hope as well. He immediately shouted at Kong and pointed at Lynn.
At that moment, Lynn also noticed Kong walking in. He gave him a brief glance and paused for a moment before changing positions and continuing to beat Saint Charlos until he whimpered.
"Saint Figarland... could you stop for now? If this continues, he will die."
Kong spoke as politely as he could.
But a high-ranking World Government official was not much in front of a Celestial Dragon. He was on the same level as the Marine Fleet Admiral.
Never mind Lynn's status—even if he were an ordinary person, there was no way he would let Charlos off easily today.
So, instead of striking him with his hands, he began viciously kicking Charlos's fat body.
"Beg me for mercy! If you beg until my heart softens, I'll let you off!"
With a cold sneer, he kicked Saint Charlos while cursing at him.
But Charlos's eyes had rolled white, his face was covered in blood, and Lynn had beaten his mouth crooked. Where could he find the strength to speak?
Seeing that Lynn ignored him completely and even became more vicious, Kong's heart sank.
He was an old hand at Mary Geoise. Most Celestial Dragons would give him some face because his strength was there. Yet Lynn ignored him outright. Moreover, now that he had arrived, if he could not stop this conflict, he would have no way to answer to the Gorosei.
Kong took a deep breath and said gravely, "Saint Figarland, if you do not stop, then I will have no choice but to offend you!"
"Talk! Say something! You think you're so tough? Let's see who can save you!"
Lynn was completely addicted to the beating, ruthlessly venting the fury in his heart. The sight made everyone around him tremble in fear.
Especially those Celestial Dragons who had stood with Roswald. Their cowardice and tendency to bully the weak while fearing the strong were now laid bare. They could only watch helplessly, frozen where they stood.
"Saint Figarland... then please forgive me. I will personally apologize to the Gorosei for the responsibility of intervening, but I cannot allow you to continue acting recklessly."
Kong sighed helplessly. He could only choose to separate the two first.
Lynn knew Kong was powerful, one of the few standing among the strongest. But so what?
The instant Kong moved, before he could even approach Lynn, the Droplet moved again!
Propelled by reverse thrust, the Droplet moved without a sound. It reflected all electromagnetic waves, and even Observation Haki could lose track of it.
But Kong was a veteran, after all. Sensing the trembling air and reacting with incredible speed, he swung a hand toward his side to block it!
Bang!
The sound was deafening!
The rippling shockwave overturned the surrounding tables and chairs. The Celestial Dragons standing nearby were blasted to the ground, stunned by the sudden scene.
Meanwhile, Lynn still had his back to Kong and remained unmoved. His hands never stopped, though the force he used had lessened considerably.
"How is this possible?"
Kong was shocked and could hardly believe it.
Fortunately, he had used Armament Haki beforehand to block the Droplet-shaped object that had crashed into him. Otherwise, he would have made a fool of himself.
What was this thing? How could it exert such tremendous and sustained force? And its surface was ice-cold.
Locked in place, the two sides resisted one another for the moment, evenly matched!
Sengoku, Garp, and the Three Admirals all widened their eyes at the sight. Aside from Kizaru, it was the first time the others had witnessed the Droplet's true power!
Everyone present—the guards and Marines alike—was shaken. The Celestial Dragons huddled together, staring in terror.
This was not like that slave from earlier. The one who had acted was Fleet Admiral Kong, the previous Marine Fleet Admiral—a true powerhouse!
This Droplet could actually do something like this. It really was incredible!
Kong's eyes were full of solemnity as he gritted his teeth.
The force behind his strike had gone from cautious restraint to steadily increasing strength. Yet he had never expected an object not even as tall as he was to unleash such immense impact.
However, even though Lynn had eased up, Charlos's breathing had weakened dramatically. He was clearly about to give out. Kong's expression turned urgent as he decisively increased his strength, even freeing one hand to shatter the Droplet with a punch!
But what he had not expected was that the seemingly water-like Droplet possessed unimaginable hardness!
Bang!
A massive impact erupted, and an even fiercer rebound surged back. Shock appeared on Kong's face.
So hard!
Kong forcibly withstood the recoil, while the Droplet was knocked back slightly without suffering any damage. Not even a trace was left behind!
"The Droplet... is truly formidable!"
Sengoku and Garp were both stunned. Kong had not held much back in that punch.
Wrapped in Armament Haki, Kong's attack could leave dents in a high-strength alloy sphere!
One could only imagine how absurd the Droplet's defense was!
