Background

Lin Yin was a commoner Soul Master who had cultivated alone to level 60 despite having no family support. He entered Sunset Forest with two companions to obtain a suitable Soul Ring, but a Ten-Thousand-Year Datura Snake killed both companions and pursued him. Jin Shan saved him, while Huo Lei recognized his rare Illusionary Dragon martial soul and potential as a future helper. 9

Jin Shan allowed Lin Yin to take the weakened Datura Snake as his sixth Soul Ring. After absorbing it, Lin Yin offered his service in repayment. Jin Shan accepted him after Lin Yin asked for the snake's corpse so that he could recover and bury his companions; Lin Yin kept vigil at their graves for three days. 9 10

Jin Shan instructed Lin Yin to follow Huo Lei directly. Although Huo Lei offered to treat him as a brother, Lin Yin maintained a formal subordinate relationship and addressed him as “Young Master Lei.” Huo Lei later revealed his Twin Martial Souls to secure Lin Yin's genuine loyalty. 10

Lin Yin is introduced while fleeing the Datura Snake after his companions are killed. His talent, isolation, and rare martial soul make him an ideal recruit for Huo Lei, who persuades Jin Shan to give him the snake as a sixth Soul Ring. 9

Service Under Huo Lei

After swearing loyalty to Jin Shan, Lin Yin is placed under Huo Lei's command. He scouts during the group's return to Sunset Forest, shares details of his martial soul for team coordination, and becomes fully convinced of Huo Lei's potential after witnessing his Twin Martial Souls. 10

Ambush of Tang San

Lin Yin hides within a tree using Perfect Unity, detects Tang San's approach, and binds him with his dragon tail. He maintains the restraint while Huo Lei steals Tang San's Wishful Treasure Pouch and immortal herbs. 12 13

Soul Bone Reward
