The Avengers tensed up again the moment they saw Thanos place the stones on his left hand.

But to their surprise, the six Infinity Stones remained dull and lifeless, no different from ordinary rocks.

A new explanation immediately occurred to the Avengers.

Thanos's Infinity Gauntlet was a fake, or it came from another world and could not use their Infinity Stones.

Only Thanos knew that, without help from those unknown beings, the Infinity Stones could not be used in other universes to begin with.

Loki's movie had made that perfectly clear.

Now that the stones had lost that help, they had simply returned to their original state.

Meanwhile, Hulk stared at the Infinity Gauntlet and the Infinity Stones, deep in thought.

He seemed to have realized something, but he could not say what it was.

Before he could figure it out, Thanos moved.

He raised Tyrant's Blade and swung at Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange immediately conjured a shield, but the blade cut straight through it, then cleaved him in two.

As Thanos turned toward Hulk, a figure in red suddenly descended in front of him and spread her arms.

Thanos paused when he saw who it was.

Standing before him was Wanda.

Not his daughter Wanda, but Wanda the Scarlet Witch.

He swung his blade at her at once.

Red light shone from Wanda's hands as Chaos Magic surged through her body.

But it could not slow him in the slightest.

His blade came down without hesitation.

In the next instant, Wanda's eyes widened in disbelief as she was split in two.

Thanos turned toward the half-crippled Hulk. With no desire to finish him off, he went after the enemies in the distance instead.

There was no satisfaction in killing a cripple.
