After hearing Tiamut out, Thanos finally understood what had happened.

Every thousand years, she received energy transmitted by the Celestials. That energy alone was enough to keep her occupied absorbing it, so she had no need for any extra.

The Aether had been injected into the Earth's core two thousand years ago.

In other words, the Aether had not been injected by the Celestials. Someone was trying to harm her.

Had Oblivion sent someone to inject the Aether into Blue Star to suppress Tiamut's growth?

He felt he had figured out Oblivion's plan.

In Marvel, Galactus and Eternity were on fairly good terms.

Eternity also had a fairly good relationship with the Celestials.

So Galactus would never devour Blue Star for no reason.

Thus, Oblivion had devised a plan to have Odin's father, Bor, seal the Aether on Blue Star after defeating the Dark Elves.

From his earlier observations, Thanos knew that the Aether was an extremely evil form of energy with an innate hunger for life.

That was precisely why the Aether had immediately entered his body when he touched it.

And when Bor sealed the Aether in Blue Star's core, it naturally latched onto Tiamut.

This achieved the goal of corrupting and suppressing Tiamut.

All Oblivion had to do next was arrange for Galactus to come and devour Blue Star.

Luring Galactus in was simple, too. Let him go hungry for a while, then use the Reality Stone as bait.

That was also why Death had forbidden Thanos from obtaining the Reality Stone.
