Fury Goes Offline
Nick Fury's single eye contracted violently, but his agent instincts quickly calmed him down.
His voice remained low and calm. "Xiao Han, what nonsense are you spouting?"
Natasha and Clint instinctively assumed fighting stances, Adam struggled to his feet, and Banner awoke from his unconsciousness. Everyone watched this scene in shock.
Xiao Han did not answer, but instead raised his hand and unleashed a golden beam of magic that struck Nick Fury precisely in the chest.
"Ah!"
With a painful roar, Nick Fury's body began to twist and deform, and green skin spread all over his body like a tide.
A few seconds later, the Skrull, his eyes filled with terror.
"This is impossible!" Natasha exclaimed, dropping her weapon to the ground.
Adam's pupils contracted sharply. "Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.., is it an alien?"
Xiao Han hovered and slowly approached the Skrull, his voice icy. "Do you think I don't know your plans? The Secret Invasion."
He grabbed the Skrull by the neck and lifted him off the ground. "Where is the real Fury?"
The Skrull struggled, his green face contorted. "I won't say..."
Just then, the communicator dropped by the Skrull suddenly lit up, and Nick Fury's holographic projection appeared in front of everyone.
He looked more haggard than usual, and the background appeared to be inside a space capsule.
"Stop, Xiao Han!" Fury shouted sternly from the projection.
"Talos is our ally!"
Xiao Han sneered, "Oh? So you went off to enjoy yourself in outer space, while leaving an alien on Earth to impersonate you, and even trying to build the most powerful team on Earth?"
In the projection, Captain Marvel Carol Danvers, also appeared beside Fury, her blonde hair flowing, her eyes filled with warning. "Let him go, Xiao Han. This is more complicated than you think."
Xiao Han's golden eyes narrowed slightly. "Before you speak, Carol, take care of your own planet first."
Before he finished speaking, his eyes suddenly blazed with intense golden light.
"No!" Fury and Carol shouted at the same time.
But it was too late.
"Sizzle!"
The Heat Vision pierced through the Skrull's skull, instantly vaporizing his entire body into ashes without leaving a trace.
The scene was deathly silent.
Fury's face in the projection was ashen, and Carol clenched her fists. "You have no idea what you've done!"
Xiao Han ignored Fury's shouts, "Turing, locate the source of the signal."
"Coordinates locked, sir." Turing's voice came from Xiao Han's watch.
"A space station located in outer orbit, converted from Kree reconnaissance ship."
Xiao Han raised his hand and opened a huge golden portal, revealing the space capsule where Fury and Carol were located on the other side.
The two stared in shock at the portal that had suddenly appeared before them.
"Since you're so eager to talk," Xiao Han said coldly, "Why don't we do it face to face?"
He stepped through the portal and disappeared from everyone's sight.
Inside the Mirror Dimension, the Avengers looked at each other in bewilderment.
"What... what should we do?" Banner asked weakly.
Adam wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes filled with complex emotions. "Follow them. This is far more serious than we imagined."
Tony, who had somehow donned his armor, said, "JARVIS, activate space mode."
Wanda's Chaos Magic flowed around her. "I'm going too."
Natasha picked up the communicator from the ground and exchanged a glance with Clint: "Looks like our work needs to be upgraded to the interstellar level."
Inside the space station, Fury and Carol watched Xiao Han's sudden appearance with suspicion.
Carol's body glowed with Cosmic Energy: "You've gone too far, Xiao Han. Talos is our friend!"
Xiao Han hovered inside the capsule, ignoring the weightlessness. "Friend? An alien disguised as Earth's highest security official?"
Fury pressed down on Carol's shoulder, his one eye fixed on Xiao Han: "Talos is helping me. The Skrull are refugees, they're being hunted by the Kree, I'm just giving them shelter."
"And the price is allowing them to infiltrate Earth?" Xiao Han sneered.
Carol floated forward. "You have no idea what the Kree have done! The Skrull just wanted a home."
"I don't care about your interstellar grudges," Xiao Han interrupted her.
"But involving the Earth is a different matter."
Just then, Tony, Wanda, Adam, and the others passed through the portal one after another.
"Wow, a spaceship from outer space." Tony whistled.
"JARVIS, make a note of this. We can consider this theme for the next party."
Fury watched the crowd file in, his one eye widening slightly. "You..."
Adam floated to Xiao Han's side, his face still pale, but his voice firm. "Fury, or rather, the real Fury. We need an explanation."
Banner, leaning against the bulkhead, asked weakly, "So all these years... you've been working with that Skrull?"
Natasha's eyes sharpened. "Chief, you owe us all an explanation."
Fury took a deep breath, steadying himself in the weightless environment. "Alright, since things have come to this... Carol, bring up the data."
Carol hesitated for a moment, then pressed the button on her wristwatch. The cabin projected a large amount of information about the Skrull refugees, as well as video footage of the Kree Empire's pursuit.
"I met Talos twenty years ago," Fury began to explain.
"At the time, the Kree were hunting down all the Skrull across the Milky Way. Carol and I saved their race."
Tony interrupted him, "So you're letting an alien impersonate the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D..? Do you know how ridiculous that is?"
"Talos is helping me!" Fury raised his voice.
"I need to set up a defensive line in space, and Earth needs someone to be stationed there. The Skrull ' shapeshifting ability is the perfect cover."
Tony scoffed dismissively, "But have you ever considered how humanity would view all supernatural beings if this were exposed?"
Xiao Han looked at them expressionlessly. "More importantly, the Secret Invasion plan. How many institutions and governments around the world have they infiltrated?"
Fury and Carol both changed color.
"How did you know this?" Carol asked, shocked.
A golden light gleamed in Xiao Han's eyes. "I know far more than you imagine, Captain Marvel."
He turned to Fury: "Now, you have two choices. One is to tell me all the key locations infiltrated by the Skrull, and the other is for me to go find them myself and burn them all to ashes."
The atmosphere inside the cabin instantly plummeted to freezing point.
Fury narrowed his one eye slightly, as if weighing the pros and cons.
Nick glanced at Carol and said coldly, "Xiao Han, you think too highly of yourself. Earth is no longer just humanity's Earth; we..."
"Sizzle!"
Xiao Han's eyes flashed with golden light, and his Heat Vision instantly pierced through Fury's chest.
The man, who called himself the guardian of the Earth, looked down at the huge hole in his chest, his face frozen in disbelief.
"You... how..." Fury's one eye widened, and his body slowly fell backward.
Carol Danvers burst forth with a blinding light. "You killed him?!"
Her blonde hair danced wildly in the Cosmic Energy, her fists clenched. "You have no idea what you're doing!"
Xiao Han looked at her calmly. "I know very well. A traitor who allowed aliens to invade Earth deserves to die."
"Enough!"
Carol roared and charged towards the bulkhead, smashing through the metal shell and plunging into space.
Xiao Han followed closely behind, and the two instantly arrived in the void outside the space station.
The Avengers watched in shock. Tony immediately activated the armor's thrusters. "JARVIS, activate life support!"
"Sir, the risk level of combat in outer space..."
"Shut up and obey orders!"
Wanda's Chaos Magic formed a protective shield around her entire body, and after a moment's hesitation, she also enveloped Natasha and the others.
Adam then used Antimatter Energy to create a breathing barrier.
Everyone rushed out of the damaged bulkhead and watched the battle from a safe distance.
