Paradis III, the ruins of the Sanctuary Cathedral.

There were over three hundred people crouching in the Underground Bunker: civilians, Astra Militarum, two Space Marines, and some wounded Battle Sister.

The bunker was converted from the church's underground space, which was originally a place to keep sacred objects. Now the sacred objects have been moved to a corner, and the space freed up is crowded with living people.

I imagine the Emperor wouldn't mind.

The place that should have sheltered the sacred relics instead sheltered hundreds of Mortals.

An Astra Militarum veteran squatted at the entrance, his Lasgun only half-charged.

To his left crouched a soldier from the Death Korps of Krieg, wearing a long, dusty coat, clutching an entrenching tool, his gas mask dimly lit.

Krieg didn't wipe it, just placed the entrenching tool on his knees without saying a word.

Behind them was a Salamanders Space Marines, with dark skin and red eyes.

Despite their terrifying appearance, the Salamanders are actually the kindest legion among the Space Marines.

Another Salamanders wearing a helmet lay behind, its chest pierced by Necrons. A rough estimate suggested that its heart and three lungs were damaged, rendering it incapable of fighting.

There is a lack of proper medical facilities here, and his Power Armor is damaged. A nun who knows how to treat external injuries is performing emergency stitches on him.

The common people huddled at the very back, adults and children alike huddled together.

Astra Militarum soldier peeked out from behind the bunker.

"How is it?" asked the Krieg soldier beside him.

"Not good." The Astra Militarum soldier shrank back. "A group of Necrons is coming from the other side of the street, at least twenty Warriors, and two Wild Scorpions behind them."

The Krieg soldier gripped his entrenching tool tightly.

A low sob rose from inside the bunker.

A group of Necrons soldiers were slowly approaching from outside, carrying Gauss Rifle that glowed green.

The Necrons walked over in about three minutes.

"There's no other way, fix bayonets," the Astra Militarum soldier said to the Krieg soldier.

The Krieg soldier flipped the entrenching tool over so the blade was facing forward.

The Salamanders Space Marines stood up, walked to the bunker entrance, and stood in front of everyone.

"You won't be able to stop them," the Astra Militarum soldier said.

The Salamanders said, "It's alright, we'll hold them off for as long as we can. We are the Emperor's Angel of Death; we can't let a bunch of Mortals stand in our way."

The Astra Militarum suddenly lost their spirit.

The Necrons soldiers slowly approached from outside.

They were trapped in the last cover, and if they couldn't find a way out, they would become corpses under the guns of these hateful Xenos in three minutes.

No, the bodies might not even be left behind.

I've heard that if you get hit by these Xenos Gauss Rifle, you'll be reduced to a pile of atoms and dissipate.

Just as they gripped their weapons, held their breath, and awaited the final moment.

A sudden change occurred.

Suddenly, a massive swarm of insects swept in from the horizon.

A dense, countless swarm of insects instantly covered the entire pilgrimage road. Termagant, Tyranid Warrior, and Tyrant like the sea, with the Tyrant Guard behind them resembling moving mountains of flesh.

They charged toward the bunker, their six legs moving with lightning speed, their mouths wide open, their faces ferocious.

"What is that?!?"

"The Tyranids! It's the Tyranids!!!"

The human survivors on the planet were filled with despair upon seeing the Tyranids.

Whether they are civilians, Astra Militarum, or canned goods.

The Necrons were already difficult enough to deal with, but now the Zerg have to be added to the Tyranids.

Against a numerically inferior Necrons, they could hide or try to fight back, but against an overwhelming Tyranids of Zerg...

The survivors collapsed to the ground in despair, waiting to die behind their bunkers.

God, why won't you show us your mercy...?

The Tyranids are charging in.

... Then they discovered that the Tyranids completely ignored them, swept past them, and headed straight for the Necrons.

"...?"

"?????"

"???"

Indeed, they were like a pack of wild dogs, not even glancing at the bunker. Like a jewel-colored river, they swept past the bunker and rushed straight towards the Necrons behind it.

?

What's going on? These bugs are no longer eating live people, but have started eating mechanical Bone Skeleton instead???

The insects flew past them, so they must have spotted them; there's no way they hadn't.

?

Could it be that these insects have a grudge against the Necrons?

And the colors of these insects... are they really that bright and beautiful?

The swarm of insects surged into the Necrons.

The Necron Warrior opened fire, the green beams of their Gauss Rifle striking the center of the swarm.

The Termagant in front were hit by Gauss Rifle and fell to the ground, while the insects behind stepped over the corpses of their own kind and continued to charge.

As the insects fell, another swarm surged forward, an endless tide of them, forcing the Necron Warrior to retreat.

Astra Militarum soldiers peered out of the bunker entrance and saw that the swarm of insects had already reached the Necrons positions and surrounded the Necron Warrior.

The twenty-odd Necron Warrior were divided and surrounded by the swarm of insects, with each Necrons surrounded by at least dozens of insects.

The insects gnawed at the metal skeleton of the skull, crunching and gnawing.

A Tyrant charged into the center of the Necrons's territory, stomped flat on one Necron Warrior, then lowered its head, bit the waist of another Necron Warrior, and tore it in two.

"... My God." He was dumbfounded.

"What's wrong?" Krieg soldier asked.

"See for yourself."

The Krieg soldier peeked out and watched as the Necrons were slowly gnawed apart by the insects. "... My God."

The Salamanders stood at the entrance to the bunker, watching the swarm of insects crush the Necrons outside, and remained silent for a long time.

The insects don't eat people; they only Necrons. These insects are probably being directed by someone.

I vaguely recall hearing that recently there's an adult who can control the Tyranids...

The Salamanders turned and looked at its Salamanders fighting brother lying on the ground; the nun was still stitching up its wounds.

Could it be that reinforcements have arrived? His brother might not have to die.

The Astra Militarum soldiers put down their Lasgun.

The civilians inside the bunker began to whisper among themselves.

The people who were crying just moments ago are now wiping away their tears one by one.

The woman holding the child squatted on the ground.

The child looked up at his mother, then turned to look at the swarm of insects running past outside the bunker.

"Mom, don't we have to die?" she whispered.

"Um."

"The insects don't eat us?"

"I won't eat it."

Why don't they eat us?

"Because they only eat Necrons."

"But those Necrons are iron skeletons."

"Right."

Why do they only eat those iron skeletons?

"Because the Emperor's angels have come." The mother patted the little girl's head.

"Laila, remember this day. The Emperor's angels have come from Hell to save us."

The Astra Militarum soldier placed his Lasgun on the ground, sat down against the wall of the bunker, and took a crumpled cigarette out of his pocket.

He lit a fire, took a drag, exhaled a cloud of grayish-white smoke, and watched as the swarm of insects devoured the last Necron Warrior into dust before charging toward the battlefield further away.

"That's... that's good."

Was it because the Emperor, because of people as lowly as them, came to pay his respects?

The Krieg soldier silently watched outside. "More than just good... awesome."

The swarm of insects simultaneously transmitted the coordinates of the living people back to Lin En's mind.

Many survivors are still hiding in the ruins of the city.

Lin En arranged for a fleet to rescue the people.

According to the area division, all Transport Shuttle of the Night Goddess and Mother of Tears were deployed to evacuate civilians first, and then the wounded.

The remaining Astra Militarum, and Battle Sister will stay on the planet; there's more to do later.

The Transport Shuttle entered from low altitude, reached the ground, and landed next to a clock tower that had collapsed halfway.

Lin En himself also arrived on the planet aboard the Transport Shuttle Transport Shuttle and jumped off.

Outside lay the scorched earth of Paradis III, the ruins of the church, overturned vehicles, and fragments of bricks and Tyranids carapaces scattered everywhere.

The Tyranids Necrons.

These Tyranids are quite useful; we can't let them all die here.

Lin En raised her hand.

A golden halo exploded from his body.

Radius is seven kilometers.

This is the maximum range he can unleash after entering the Blackstone Array's coverage area, which is one-third smaller than usual.

Lin En frowned, clearly annoyed, and began to consider whether he should use Psychic Overload in advance.

... Sigh, never mind, I'll save the psionic Psychic Overload for when I find the Necrons tomb later.

Golden Light poured into the swarm of insects, striking the carapace of each one and seeping into their bodies.

The insects' carapaces had a faint Golden Light, barely noticeable at first glance. But upon closer inspection, one could see that each insect's carapace within the Golden Light sheen had a very thin layer of golden luster floating on its surface, like it had been coated with a thin layer of gold paint.

Mass Healing Aura, activated.

Open on the Thirty Days!

A Necron Warrior raised his gun and shot a Termagant in the chest. The green light from the Gauss Flayer pierced through the carapace and burned a fist-sized hole in the insect's body.

The Termagant staggered.

Normally, it would just fall to the ground in this situation.

But this time it didn't collapse; the hole in its chest healed quickly.

The Termagant swayed, then realized it was alright, and continued charging forward, biting the Necron Warrior's arm.

Lin En didn't have a special attack against the Necrons.

So they forcibly imposed a 30-day period on the insect swarm.

Isn't it just Living Metal recombination? Let's do a flesh and blood recombination, forcibly lock blood, and see who survives longer.
