Background / History

Luo Ji was an ordinary college student from Demon Capital who visited a VR gaming center after becoming disturbed by an exhibition of criminal evidence. A quarrelling couple indirectly caused his transmigration when a smoking phone struck his VR glasses, producing a burst of white light that transported him from Blue Star into the One Piece world. 1

He arrived inside the spatial passage created by Kozuki Toki’s time-travel ability. Kin’emon, Raizo, and Kikunojo were killed by the passage’s spatial energy, while Kanjuro and Momonosuke remained alive. Luo Ji absorbed the energy cards released from the dead retainers, acquiring their memories, abilities, physical traits, Haki, and Devil Fruit powers. He showed little grief over their deaths, viewing the bodies and cards primarily as resources. 1

After combining the Fude Fude no Mi and Maki Maki no Mi, Luo Ji began creating blood-based puppet portraits, storing weapons, producing food, and developing elemental attacks. He traveled to Amigasa Village, where he rescued the orphan Tama and recruited her as a companion while secretly planning to exploit her beast-controlling ability. 3 5

Luo Ji defeated and imprisoned Kozuki Sukiyaki, looted his workshop, and obtained Enma, Ame no Habakiri, Nidai Kitetsu, Seastone, and the tools needed to process Seastone and carve Poneglyphs. He later infiltrated the Flower Capital, obtained the Road Poneglyph, and used Sukiyaki’s knowledge to pursue Yamato’s rescue and the Ancient Weapon Pluton. 7 9

He attacked Onigashima, fought Yamato, and persuaded her to join his crew. Personality

Luo Ji is opportunistic, ambitious, and morally detached. From the moment he arrives in the new world, he treats the deaths of Kin’emon, Raizo, and Kikunojo as an opportunity to obtain power rather than as a tragedy. His excitement over the energy cards quickly overcomes his fear and confusion. 1

He combines genuine protectiveness with calculated manipulation. He feeds and shelters Tama, frees prisoners, protects Rebecca, and liberates Yamato, but often sees the people he helps as future assets.
