The battle against Hulk was not yet over, and Aeneas also headed to the south side of Central Circle Street to carry out his next actions.
Right at this moment, Obi-Wan, who had just been captured, had not given up on searching for any clues related to Rami.
Given Obi-Wan's strength, even if there were other unknown helpers in the Hunter Base, they could never have taken Obi-Wan down so easily—if not for Rami, Obi-Wan would definitely have made the entire Hunter Base pay a heavy price.
However, small patience leads to great plans, so along the way, against the sneers and jeers, and even the beatings and kicks from his former colleagues, Obi-Wan endured it all, merely keeping all those petty villains who kicked a man while he was down firmly in his heart, waiting for the proper moment to erupt!
It's not time yet! Obi-Wan looked at someone spitting on his face, his expression gloomy as he remained silent. This isn't the way to the cells. Where are they taking me?
Although puzzled, Obi-Wan still did not resist, simply remaining compliant and mute the entire way. Those who taunted him also lost interest and did not push their luck any further.
Soon, Obi-Wan knew the answer.
They arrived inside a spacious, high-level corridor whose furnishings were extremely luxurious—a place Obi-Wan had never seen before. They came to the door at the end of the corridor.
"Where is this?" Obi-Wan couldn't help wondering, but his escorts didn't answer him; they merely knocked on the door and left Obi-Wan behind.
Then, the door opened, but there was nobody behind it.
Obi-Wan entered the door and found the interior even more magnificent. There were murals on the walls, carpets on the floor, and within every inch of sight, there were things that could be called treasures.
Who on earth was the owner of this room?
In Obi-Wan's impression, no such person existed.
However, by the window on the other side of the room, an armchair and a table were set up with their backs to the door. On the table rested a peculiar weapon shaped like a crossbow rack and as sharp as a blade, with five strong arrows laid flat among them, looking utterly terrifying.
"That is..." Obi-Wan's eyes widened. He was far too familiar with this unique weapon: "The Strong Crossbow!"
Just as Obi-Wan was startled, the armchair suddenly spun around.
A white-haired man with his right eye covered by a black cloth appeared. The man's face already had distinct wrinkles, and he looked quite elderly, yet his body was extremely robust. He sat quietly in his chair, as though he had been waiting for Obi-Wan for a long time.
"You're here." The man looked calmly at Obi-Wan while slowly pouring a cup of tea. "Come, sit down and have some tea."
The man pointed to another chair nearby, signaling that Obi-Wan could sit.
Although wearing handcuffs, it didn't prevent Obi-Wan from using both hands together to lift a cup and drink tea—though it was a bit difficult for Obi-Wan to shake off the handcuffs, because these were no ordinary handcuffs.
"Seastone handcuffs?" Obi-Wan tried to raise the cup, but found it very awkward. He looked rather comical, so he simply put the teacup down and refused to drink.
"I'm not a Devil Fruit user. Is it necessary to be this guarded against me?" Obi-Wan looked at the old man, his gaze intriguing yet filled with doubt—he was curious as to why the person sitting across from him appeared here.
Because this person was none other than the founder of the Tinos Hunter Organization!
"The 'Strong Crossbow'—Alfred!" Obi-Wan stared straight at Alfred.
"You still remember me, my good disciple!" Alfred took a slight sip of tea, revealing an expression of enjoyment. "The tea is bitter, but the flavor is richer!"
Yet, he called Obi-Wan his disciple?
Obi-Wan was actually Alfred's disciple?
"Aren't you already dead?" Obi-Wan didn't show any joyful expression upon hearing the title of "disciple," because he certainly didn't acknowledge this murderous monster as his master. "And now you're actually working for the Marines?"
Alfred smiled faintly and didn't answer, taking it as tacit admission.
"So that's how it is..." Obi-Wan had always thought he was being framed, that his former colleagues had betrayed him—that he was sold out purely for the sake of profit.
But looking at it now, that wasn't the case.
Because it was that former King of Hunters—the "Strong Crossbow" Alfred!
"So you're doing this to avenge your past grudge?" Obi-Wan looked at Alfred. "How on earth did you survive?"
"Thanks to your naivety. If you hadn't shown mercy back then and left me to fend for myself, I wouldn't have returned here to claim your life!" Alfred raised his crossbow-sword—a peculiar weapon that integrated a crossbow and a sword into one.
It could both shoot powerful crossbow arrows from a distance and swing at enemies as a close-combat weapon.
Obi-Wan fell silent, memories instantly surging into his heart.
Four years ago, when he left the Dunhold Family, his purpose wasn't actually to return home to visit relatives—in fact, Obi-Wan had no name or lineage, and was called simply Obi-Wan before obtaining the Dunhold surname, being an orphan.
He grew up in Tinos and was forced by the original Hunter Base to become a pirate hunter.
And the leader of the Hunter Base at that time was none other than Alfred.
Although Alfred seemed refined and gentle, he was actually an extremely cruel and perverted murderous monster!
All of the companions who grew up alongside Obi-Wan did not die in mandatory missions, but rather under Alfred's perverted punishment measures—all profits as pirate hunters at the time had to be handed over to the organization.
To guarantee profits, Alfred came up with an inhumane idea.
That was to train dead soldiers from childhood and subject them to continuous brainwashing!
Obi-Wan was precisely one of those pitiable children.
Later on, Obi-Wan's departure from the Hunter Organization was due to the rescue of Antonidas, the head of the Dunhold Family—the two were of similar age, but Antonidas was able to perceive the tiny shred of kindness that still existed deep within Obi-Wan's heart back then.
It was precisely this shred of kindness that was unearthed, and Obi-Wan finally mustered the courage to break away from the Hunter Organization.
Yet later, upon hearing of the tragic deaths of more and more companions, Obi-Wan could no longer sit idly by—he knew that those companions who had trained and grown up with him were people with emotions!
Instead of tools to be used by Alfred!
In order not to implicate the Dunhold Family, Obi-Wan left alone under the guise of departing, and his sole purpose was to kill "Master" Alfred, who had trained him for a full decade!
What he hadn't expected, however, was that his departure actually saved him from perishing in the massacre that wiped out the Dunhold Family.
Obi-Wan quickly succeeded, driving Alfred into a desperate situation, while he himself became the new leader of the Hunter Organization, immediately abolishing all the perverted brainwashing training policies.
As a result, the interests of a great many people were harmed, until not long ago, the news that Obi-Wan was a member of the Dunhold Family was exposed, and these people finally found leverage against Obi-Wan.
Alfred, who had managed to survive by sheer luck back then, had also been enduring in silence, waiting for an opportunity to exact his revenge!
And so the subsequent story became clear: the "Strong Crossbow"-led Hunter Organization made a deal with the Marine branch, requiring only a fraction of personnel as backup, while Alfred himself took charge of directing the operation.
Regrettably, Obi-Wan escaped the first time, and only a little girl was captured.
What Alfred never expected was that this little girl could actually lure Obi-Wan into coming to surrender himself.
