Background / History

Kuroh first manifests after Wude receives the Demi-Human Bloodline at Loguetown. Initially known as “Little Black,” it serves as his invisible executioner, swiftly killing five pirates who threaten Wude and his ship’s crew. Mihawk senses its unusual aura and connects it to Wude, though he cannot clearly perceive it 1.

During Wude’s early travels, he develops Kuroh beyond a simple summoned combatant. Kuroh learns to use swords and firearms, spar with Wude, and continue acting even if Wude loses consciousness 3. By the time Wude leaves Shanks behind, it can independently steer a boat, fight without direct supervision, and produce multiple copies in succession 6.

Kuroh gradually becomes less obedient and more individualistic. While waiting at Little Garden, it secretly wanders through the flower district and begins reshaping its body into a feminine human-like form 13. Violet later identifies the otherwise invisible entity as a “big sister” after Wude permits her to touch it 28.

At Marine Headquarters, Kuroh remains Wude’s most consistent partner. It trains Hina’s Observation Haki, restrains opponents Wude is testing, and guards Wude during his dangerous attempt to consume an unknown Devil Fruit 41 46.
