"Cairns, I'm hungry. Should we just eat that?" Miming pointed at the corpse of a Sea King.
"Ah, how could you let Saint Miming eat such a disgusting thing!" Cairns hurriedly said, "We can just go to a restaurant in Vasa Port!"
"Oh, I forgot you can't go into the sea."
"It's not that!" Cairns rubbed his hands. "Your subordinate's culinary skills... I'm afraid whatever I make wouldn't be fit for Saint Miming's palate. Besides, isn't Saint Miming already hungry?"
Miming thought about it carefully, and he was right. Grilling a Sea King would require making a fire, and they didn't have any seasonings on them, so it would definitely be a lot of effort and taste terrible.
Miming looked at Cairns's shoulder, and suddenly felt an urge, leaping up with a whoosh.
He never expected to hop up so easily onto the shoulder that was over three meters high.
Suppressing the excitement in his heart, Miming pointed toward the port. "Peeved shrimp... oh no, Cairns, let's go!"
Vasa Port was the link between all the nations of the West Blue and the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, an important port for transporting the Heavenly Tribute and conducting trade with the other three seas. Because the wealth and goods of the West Blue gathered here, Vasa Port's prosperity could be said to surpass the capitals of many nations.
At a roadside barbecue stall, everyone passing by couldn't help glancing sideways at the two people devouring their food voraciously.
"Saint Miming, eating this kind of food in public is beneath your status!" Cairns lowered his voice to advise Miming while pulling meat off a skewer into his mouth. "We could go to that high-class restaurant over there and have the owner send it to you."
"Nonsense!" Miming bit down fiercely, stripping a whole skewer of meat off the metal stick into his mouth. "This has to be eaten right by the stove while it's hot!"
"Cairns! From now on, I forbid you to expose my identity anywhere outside Mary Geoise!"
"Understood, Saint Miming!"
Even though Cairns was speaking, his speed at eating skewers didn't slow down at all.
These were Kingdom of Flowers barbecue skewers, which were very popular in the West Blue.
Miming ate while sizing up his surroundings. The owner wore a green robe, and the helper wore a white tunic with a blue vest over it; their attire looked quite a bit like historical costumes from his past life. From far away, Miming had been attracted by the aroma of the barbecue skewers and had immediately decided to eat at this place.
"Boss, bring another two hundred skewers." Miming felt that a hundred skewers was just enough to taste-test.
"Boss, we'll buy out everything you have here." Cairns directly used the Celestial Dragons' shopping method—buying out the venue for anything he purchased. "Make everyone else leave so they don't cause trouble. Grill those two racks of lamb as well. Also, keep bringing side dishes and drinks endlessly."
"This... wouldn't that be bad?" The boss was sweating profusely. Although he frequently encountered big eaters, he didn't see ones who could eat this much very often.
Cairns glared. "Scum! The person standing right in front of you is Saint... Lord Miming!"
The boss looked at Miming's ravenous way of eating, completely failing to connect him with a Celestial Dragon, and hurriedly waved his hands to explain. "Actually, some customers made reservations in advance, especially those two racks of lamb, which were already booked by someone else. I can't cancel their reservation just because you've arrived. Doing business requires keeping one's word, don't you agree?"
"Preposterous!" Cairns glared. "I see you're tired of living..." Standing at three meters and fifty centimeters tall, he looked down at the owner and the helper, and everyone trembled with fright.
"Cairns!" Miming raised a hand to stop him. "It's fine, it's fine. I'm already very happy to be able to eat meat skewers today." As he spoke, he stripped all the meat off the handful of skewers in his hand in two or three bites.
Cairns sat down. "Since Lord Miming has said so, why aren't you kneeling and kowtowing with tears of gratitude!"
"Ah, there's no need for kneeling and kowtowing and all that," Miming said. "Just hurry up and get back to grilling."
"Yes!" The owner and the helper both gave a start, filled every single stove with meat skewers, and began grilling frantically. Three large, two-meter-long stoves grilling together still couldn't keep up with the speed at which these two people were eating!
The owner was practically about to panic; this appetite was simply that of a monster. Never mind the three-meter-fifty-tall fellow, the problem was that the giant looked like a mere lackey, and it was this young, short fellow who was doing the main eating. His mouth didn't look that big, nor was his stomach large, so where was all the food going? Right before his eyes, they had already polished off twenty pounds of meat! Judging by what they meant, this was just the beginning and they could keep eating indefinitely?
Other restaurant owners would be very happy to encounter a big eater, but ever since seeing these two, the owner had a feeling of impending doom. Because the people coming and going in Vasa Port were either ship crews and military officers from the various nations of the West Blue, or naval personnel and lackeys of the Celestial Dragons.
West Blue military officers were often royalty and generals from various countries; they could act tyrannically in their own lands, but once they arrived in Vasa Port, they were absolute nobodies in front of the Navy.
The Navy from various branches could also act tyrannically in various countries, but Vasa Port was the headquarters of the West Blue branch, and with a disciplinary inspector from Navy Headquarters stationed here, all branch naval personnel had to tuck their tails between their legs and behave themselves.
As for the person who had reserved those two racks of lamb, it was none other than the disciplinary inspector dispatched here by Navy Headquarters, Admiral Nelson Roy.
Sure enough, before long, a large group of naval soldiers came escorting a huge sedan chair. Four naval soldiers, pressed half to death, carried the carrying poles, and sitting atop it was a person like a mountain of flesh, wearing a tall hat bearing the Navy emblem on his head. His clothes were stretched out to the sides by his massive belly, exposing a round, gigantic potbelly. The people on the street were all shoved to both sides to make way for this mountain of flesh.
When the sedan chair landed, it produced a dull, loud thud, and the naval soldiers carrying it collapsed to the ground, panting heavily. It wasn't that they were too weak, but rather that this mountain of flesh sat there at a height of three meters.
"Get the lamb racks on the grill." Smelling the aroma of the barbecue, Admiral Nelson felt his appetite stirred. Staying in Vasa Port was a lucrative posting; not only did it rake in a fortune daily, but life was also comfortable. There was no need to wander the seas facing hardships, and on top of that, there was countless good food.
The owner cautiously ordered people to take the lamb racks to be grilled, and seeing that Miming and Cairns showed no expression and were simply concentrating on eating skewers, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Admiral Nelson's belly was wafted by the aroma and immediately began to rumble. He pointed at the meat skewers on the stove. "Bring me a hundred of those grilled skewers first."
The owner's heart instantly sank, and he thought to himself that they were in for trouble.
Sure enough, Cairns's eyes already flashed with a fierce glint, and he sneered, "These meat skewers all belong to Lord Miming."
"What?" Admiral Nelson was stunned by this overbearing attitude. Was there still someone here who dared to oppose the Navy? Country bumpkins from the provinces didn't know the immensity of heaven and earth!
A naval soldier had already shouted loudly, "Scum! The person standing right in front of you is the Navy admiral, Lord Nelson!"
