Under the name Qing Wuyan, he attended Youcheng No. 3 Middle School and became one of Hua Yin’s few close friends. Hua remembered him as a cheerful classmate who ignored his poverty and sometimes defused provocations against him 26. Hua later spotted him browsing spiritual-energy salvage in a West District black market. During a Bureau pursuit there, Qing directed Hua toward a fleeing suspect, was struck in the cheek by a vendor’s projectile, and was healed by Hua. He told investigators that curiosity had brought him to the market 26 27.

Qing subsequently steered their classmate Lin Qingqiu toward an illicit Genetic Potion. He gave her a black-market referral card, offered to scout the market after her parents destroyed it, and sent her an offer priced at 3,000 Lower-Grade Spirit Stones. In private, he monitored her reaction and directed contacts in an illegal potion network 29 30 39 41. He also received encrypted updates about Scarface King’s arrest and, during a friendly meal, searched Hua’s jacket and planted a tiny object in its lining 35 42.

After Bai Ye removed a Heartworm from Lin, he suspected the Psychologist’s involvement and questioned Qing’s identity. A raid on Qing’s home found his supposed parents under deep hypnosis and the apartment cleared of useful evidence. A prerecorded message addressed Hua as a “good friend” and mocked the Bureau 43 44. The Psychologist later appeared in Qing’s form atop a Youcheng broadcast tower, drawing on outbreaks across multiple cities in an attempt to enter the Law Realm. Liu Zhenguo disrupted the ritual, and an unidentified Law Realm expert struck the fleeing Psychologist back into Qing’s shell 46 49 50.

Appearance

As Qing Wuyan, he presents himself as a schoolboy with a carefree grin and animated manner 26 27.

• His face is completely restored after Hua Yin heals a projectile wound to his left cheek 27 29.
• During the failed escape above Youcheng, his body becomes cracked and nearly collapses 50.

Personality

His public manner is talkative, playful, and attentive: he fills meals with school gossip, jokes with Hua Yin, and presents his help to Lin Qingqiu as friendship 28 39 42. In private, he drops the cheerful expression, uses encrypted communications, and treats Lin’s desire for power as something to test and exploit 28 35 41. As the Psychologist, he mocks his pursuers and uses civilians’ fear to pursue his breakthrough 44 49.
