Yu Yuan's gaze finally settled on the [Resource Recycling Trash Can].
He hated to admit it, but it really was the best choice right now.
His clothes were filthy, but he could still wear them. He could wash them if he had to. No one would see, and no one cared.
Without vegetables, he might get constipated, but he could drink more water to soften his stool. Or he could spend Survival Points to buy wild fruit or vegetables from other players. Even wild grass would solve the problem.
Resources, though—that was another matter.
What caught Yu Yuan's attention most were the words [Resource Recycling].
He had made up his mind, so he stopped hesitating.
Choice—Resource Recycling Trash Can.

An ordinary white trash can appeared at Yu Yuan's feet. The words "Resource Recycling" were printed on both sides.
As soon as he completed his Fate Gift selection, the Fate Card Wooden Box began to shake.
Three seconds later, a long, earth-yellow card covered in mysterious patterns appeared before Yu Yuan.

He would have gladly expanded the Hideout, but that would cost 150,000 Survival Points. He simply didn't have that much. Even selling every resource he owned wouldn't be enough.
That left him with one option: find a way to spend resources worth 50,000 Survival Points on something unrelated to survival.
A hundred and fifty thousand was too much. Fifty thousand, he might be able to manage. He already had the beginnings of a plan.
Still... Yu Yuan's heart ached.
That was 50,000 Survival Points!
He wasn't even sure everything he owned apart from his guns was worth that much. Finding it in two days might kill him.
He returned to the newspaper rack and looked through the past few days' papers.
Yesterday's and today's papers contained four pieces of Rock Tier intelligence in total.
One covered the typhoon's departure and the recovery of the weather. The other three were district news.

After discussions, Marauder Prison decided to complete a resource trade with Burning Fortress at Blackstone Gorge in the Northern Wilderness at 1 p.m. the day after tomorrow, in preparation for retaliation from the Black Shield Police Department.
They will send two Marauder squads to exchange twenty slaves for a truckload of fuel, some Survival Supplies, and explosives.

The typhoon's torrential rain has caused flooding across Green Forest City. Several subway tunnels in the East District were hit especially hard by the sudden floodwaters.
The Free Ones, a refugee organization in the 5th Block, and the Ghosthead Gang, a refugee gang in the 9th Block, both suffered heavy losses in the flooding.
Only the Bloodhand Gang, a band of Wilderness Raiders hiding in the 10th Block, managed to occupy Green Forest Light Supermarket in time under the leadership of their chief, Mahada, and his brothers.
Just three of them are missing and four injured. They do not plan to leave until the injured recover.

Old Ke, a commander of the Black Shield Police Department, successfully completed an armed suppression mission in the Central District and returned to East City this morning. He brought news that Marauder Prison will trade with Burning Fortress at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
He ordered Enforcer Carmen to lead the operation, with Enforcer Soda assisting. Tomorrow afternoon, they are to attack the Marauder squad returning from the trade in the Carlisle Underground Tunnel in East City's 9th Block and seize all the traded goods.
But Enforcer Soda received a secret order from Commander Lawrence: eliminate Carmen.
Yu Yuan fetched a pen and paper and began sketching out his plans.
The first two reports had appeared yesterday morning. The report about the Black Shield Police Department attacking Marauder Prison tomorrow afternoon had appeared this morning. Yu Yuan hadn't planned to get involved, but he no longer had a choice.
Clearing the Luxury Card would take at least 50,000 Survival Points. There was no way to get that much through ordinary means in just two days. His only hope lay with the goods from Marauder Prison's trade.
He opened the Virtual Map and checked the location of the Carlisle Underground Tunnel in the 9th Block. The 9th Block lay northeast of District 13, on the very edge of Green Forest City.
The quickest route from the Eastern Suburbs to the northern outskirts passed through the 9th Block, and the Carlisle Underground Tunnel formed part of that route.
Yu Yuan plotted a route through the sewers from the Hideout to the Carlisle Underground Tunnel on the Virtual Map. He frowned at what he saw.
That was a long way.
On foot, it would probably take him nearly two hours each way. He would also have to cross the 11th Block to reach the 9th Block. The thought of running into that elusive Giant Rat made his head hurt.
He made a special note in the Hideout Memo of everything he needed to watch out for during tomorrow's operation.
Only then did Yu Yuan turn his attention to the trash can at his feet.
It looked like an ordinary fourteen-liter household trash can.
It even had a flip lid.
Yu Yuan had accumulated plenty of garbage over the past two days and piled it in the passage outside the Hideout. He had meant to clear it out today. Now it could serve a purpose.
There was so much garbage that filling the can used up only half of it.
Yu Yuan was satisfied all the same. Now he just had to see what surprise the trash can would bring him tomorrow.
He went into the Hideout and began putting on his full Enforcer tactical set.
He equipped the [Enforcer Chest Rig], [Enforcer Tactical Gloves], [Enforcer Tactical Boots], and [Enforcer Goggles].
He loaded the FN FAL Assault Rifle's spare magazines and the Grenade into the chest rig, then equipped his Kukri, Glock 17, and M500 Revolver.
Yu Yuan felt the weight bearing down on him. He was overloaded.
He looked at Miemie and silently commanded, [Equip].
The next moment, Miemie vanished from where he lay on the floor. An immense strength surged through Yu Yuan's body, and the gear that had felt so heavy became almost weightless.
Excitement spread across his face. He picked up the FN FAL Assault Rifle and headed out of the Hideout.
It was time to find a way to clear the Luxury Card.
