Background / History

Shen Lantang was reborn into the Jing Dynasty as a baby. At nineteen, she married Xie Jin as his second wife and became stepmother to his son, Xie Hongwen 1. She had taken responsibility for her birth family’s finances and major affairs from a young age, leaving little time for riding and archery lessons after she turned ten 91.

Before and after her marriage, Lantang managed Jade and Gold House. She revived the struggling jewelry shop through renovation, rebranding, a try-on and styling service, and rewards tied to employees’ sales 2. Her distrust of Reverend Xuanxin intensified when she saw his supposed miracles and stopped a woman from drinking his Pregnancy-Safeguarding Talisman water 37 40.
