Background and History

Adopted by Tang Ziran and Lang Yue, Chen Xing grows up as Tang Wulin’s older brother. After awakening with zero Soul Power, he asks to study mecha at his father’s repair shop. There, he uses advice from the AI Pom-Pom to learn mechanical principles quickly, while keeping her assistance private 1 15.

His World-Painting Brush lets him turn drawings into physical objects through Illusory Creation. The power gives him a route into mecha engineering despite his inability to use Soul Power. After finding Pom-Pom on an abandoned train and later encountering a vision of the Astral Express, he resolves to restore the train, build the Starfarer, and travel among the stars 1 2 8.

Chen Xing rescues an amnesiac girl, Na’er, from kidnappers and brings her into his family. When he learns the kidnappers work for the Holy Spirit Cult, protecting Na’er and Wulin becomes a more urgent reason to grow stronger 5 13. He leaves Aolai City to study under Zhen Hua in Heaven Dou City, arranging visits home, and later gains Mu Ye as a second teacher 15 16 18.

After three years of training, Chen Xing confronts Holy Spirit Cult members, protects Na’er from Di Tian with Starfarer, and develops mechas that can execute Body Sect combat methods 19 23 25 36. His public promotion to Red-Class Mecha Engineer brings him into direct contact with leaders of the Tang Sect, Shrek Academy, and Spirit Pagoda; he rejects their recruitment attempts 51 52.

Chen Xing’s later actions are both protective and ruthless. He helps Tang Wulin obtain the Child of Nature soul ring, coordinates with Na’er in Dragon Valley, and rescues survivors from the Holy Spirit Cult 46 48 56. He also engineers conflict between rival factions, takes resources from Shrek and the Tang Sect, and kills a student before falsely telling survivors that the student was a disguised Evil Soul Master 48 53 58.

Personality

Chen Xing is persistent about mecha design and exploration, even when others treat zero Soul Power as an insurmountable barrier. He seeks instruction after proving his own ability and shares his dream of reaching the stars with Wulin and Na’er 3 8.

He is affectionate and protective toward his siblings, but guarded with outsiders and deliberate about how much of his power he reveals 5 11 15 32. Against enemies, his judgment can be severe: he refuses to spare kidnappers and Evil Soul Masters, while later using deception and political conflict to advance his plans 13 21 48 58.
