"Yuhao, what are you standing around for? Get back and train. The freshman assessment is only half a month away." While Huo Yuhao stood lost in thought, Xiang Jun appeared silently behind her and patted her shoulder with a smile.
"Huh? Xiang Jun?"
At the sight of his smiling face, Huo Yuhao sniffled. The scene she had witnessed earlier came rushing back, leaving a sour feeling in her heart.
"I was afraid I'd disturb you..."
Her wounded expression made suspicion flicker through Xiang Jun's eyes.
Wait. Is she jealous?
Of Tang Wutong? Surely not of me!
After two and a half months of Xiang Jun's careful feeding, Huo Yuhao was no longer the scrawny youngster she had once been.
Her sallow skin had grown fair and rosy, and her slightly long, dark-blue hair fell loosely down her back. With those eyes that sometimes shimmered, she looked every bit a pretty young boy.
Only her height seemed unchanged.
Xiang Jun narrowed his eyes. After spending so much time together, he had noticed plenty of oddities in Huo Yuhao's behavior.
For one thing, he had never once seen her in the bathroom.
With that thought, Xiang Jun decided to test his suspicion.
"Let's head back and rest. It wouldn't do to catch a chill." Before Huo Yuhao could react, Xiang Jun reached out and scooped her up in his arms.
"Hey? W-wait!"
Huo Yuhao was about to refuse when her body suddenly lifted off the ground. By the time she recovered, she was already lying in Xiang Jun's arms.
Surrounded by a scent that inexplicably put her at ease, Huo Yuhao's face flushed bright red. She stammered for ages without managing a complete sentence.
"Xiang Jun, put me down! People will gossip about you if they see this!" After a moment's daze, Huo Yuhao began struggling with all her might.
Gossip?
Do they think my Seagod's Trident is just a fishing spear?
Xiang Jun paid it no mind and strode toward the dormitory.
After failing to break free, Huo Yuhao resigned herself to it. She closed her eyes and leaned quietly against his chest, listening to his strong, steady heartbeat.
"Damn that Huo Yuhao! She's asking for death!"
In a patch of grass not far away, Tang Wutong had watched the whole thing. She was grinding her teeth so hard they nearly cracked.
"No, no. This princess needs to step up her game. As the Sea God's heir, Xiang Jun absolutely must not be led astray!"
Inside the freshman dormitory, everyone's expressions turned strange when they saw the person in Xiang Jun's arms, but no one dared say a word.
Over the past two months, Xiang Jun's name had spread through the Outer Court. He had fought dozens of soul duels without a single defeat.
Dormitory 108 was also famous for turning its lights off early—and for taking lots of showers.
Even so, their scrutinizing gazes made Huo Yuhao's skin prickle. She hurriedly tucked herself deeper into Xiang Jun's arms.
Late that night.
Huo Yuhao quietly opened her eyes. Seeing Xiang Jun deep in meditation, she tiptoed out of bed.
The moment she left the room, Xiang Jun silently opened his eyes.
Sneaking around, are we? Let's see what Huo Yuhao's up to! Xiang Jun grinned, then vanished from the spot.
In the corridor, Huo Yuhao carefully scanned her surroundings with her spiritual power, utterly unaware that Xiang Jun was behind her.
She approached the communal bathroom with care. Only after confirming it was empty did she tiptoe toward the showers.
Huo Yuhao chose the stall farthest from the door, hurried inside, and locked it. Only then did she let out a long breath.
"Phew. That feels much better!"
Freed from the binding strips, her two little breasts sprang out.
She might not have inherited the White Tiger Martial Soul, but Huo Yuhao still had the Zhu Family's fine genes. With enough nourishment, a mere two and a half months had taken her from flat as a board to just beginning to blossom.
Outside the shower room, Xiang Jun suppressed his presence to the utmost, drawing none of Huo Yuhao's attention.
Through the misted glass, he caught sight of the petite figure bathing inside and froze.
Wait. Since when did Huo Yuhao's pecs get so... prominent?
Xiang Jun slipped silently out of the shower room, his head in a whirl.
Did Huo Yuhao get Wang Dong's script?
When Huo Yuhao returned to the dormitory after washing up, she found the room, which should have been pitch-dark, brightly lit. A bad feeling rose in her heart.
She looked up. Xiang Jun had emerged from meditation at some point and was sitting on his bed, studying her with an odd expression.
"X-Xiang Jun, why are you still awake so late?" Huo Yuhao's eyes darted away, unable to meet his.
"Oh, I just went to the bathroom." Xiang Jun glanced meaningfully at her damp hair.
He went to the bathroom?!
Huo Yuhao's pupils contracted, and her sense of foreboding grew stronger.
Xiang Jun couldn't have discovered anything, could he?
"Oh, I see. Haha." Huo Yuhao forced herself to act natural and walked toward her bed.
But the instant she sat down, Xiang Jun spoke again.
"Yuhao, it's been a full week since I last nourished your meridians. It's time again!"
Huo Yuhao's face flushed at his words, but she nodded obediently and tossed aside her school uniform jacket.
Seeing how expectant Huo Gua looked, Xiang Jun grinned and teased, "Don't forget your uniform shirt. It'll work best if you take that off too!"
My uniform shirt?!
Xiang Jun's words sent Huo Yuhao into a panic. She waved her hands frantically and stammered, "N-no need, Xiang Jun! This is fine..."
Her reaction only made Xiang Jun more certain of his suspicion.
Good grief. Did she really get Wang Dong's script?
I've seen delivery before, but never one delivered straight to my mouth.
Does she think I'm some kind of saint?
"Little Yuhao, is there really nothing you want to tell me?" A teasing smile curled Xiang Jun's lips as he sat down beside her.
Huo Yuhao could hardly bear it. Even she could tell by now that her secret was completely exposed.
At the thought, she deflated, lowering her head and avoiding Xiang Jun's eyes.
"I'm sorry, Xiang Jun. I-I..."
"My name isn't actually Huo Yuhao. My real name is Huo Yuxi..."
