Background and History

Xiang Jun was born as a Spirit of the Ocean and drifted at sea until Poseidon found him. Poseidon reshaped him into a human infant, later gave him a Sea God Martial Soul formed from divine blood and a remnant of Sea God authority, and trained him as a potential successor 2 21. Xiang Jun also retains memories of a story he read before transmigrating, which lets him recognize some people and notice when events diverge from what he expected 6.

After acquiring his fourth soul ring, Xiang Jun saved Huo Yuhao from a Wind Baboon in Star Dou Forest. He saw a chance to win over the “child of destiny” while Tang God King was occupied in the Divine Realm 2 3. At Shrek Academy, Yan Shaozhe personally admitted him and assigned him Dormitory 108, where Huo Yuhao became his roommate 6 8.

Xiang Jun sought access to the Golden Ancient Tree to advance Poseidon’s succession plan. Following Ma Xiaotao’s uncontrolled attack at Sea God Lake, he negotiated permission to cultivate there three days a week 15 27. He subsequently met Elder Jin, the tree itself, who told him that his authority over the Sea God Godhood remained only partial 34.

Xiang Jun is courteous in public but skeptical and calculating in private. He deliberately cultivates Huo Yuhao’s trust to keep Tang God King from influencing her, though he feels some guilt about the manipulation 3 6 15. He also gives her practical help, including a valuable pill and repeated cultivation treatments 15 20 30.

He pursues strength and divine succession for personal reasons, including a desire to confront Tang God King; Elder Jin’s expectation that he save Douluo Star does not match his private priorities 21 35. In combat, he can be severe, but he held back against Zhou Yi rather than seriously harming her 14. After Ma Xiaotao attacked him without warning, he was far less forgiving 27.
