High above, Qian Daoliu pressed his palms together and prayed under his breath, "Miss Bi Ji, please hurry."
Watching Suranos deliberately keep his distance on the Sky Curtain, information about Tiga's three forms surfaced in Bi Ji's mind. With a thought, his body shifted into the blue-and-silver Sky Type.
Tiga's speed surged. He broke Mach 50, with mountains, rivers, forests, and cities flashing past below him. As he raced through the clouds in a body of light, exhilaration welled up in Bi Ji's heart. She had never known the freedom of soaring across the sky so fast.
Moments later, the fleeing Suranos came fully into Tiga's view. Suranos climbed desperately toward space, and Tiga followed. The two towering figures broke through the atmosphere and entered the boundless void.
Stars glittered against the darkness, with blue Douluo Star hanging below. Countless beings watching the Sky Curtain gazed at the magnificent sight. Longing briefly displaced their fear.
Suranos kept fleeing at full speed.
With almost no friction in space, both giants accelerated faster and faster.
Soon they reached several hundred times the speed of sound. The Sky Curtain helpfully converted their speeds into figures the people of Douluo Star could understand.
Suranos: 1.79 million kilometers per hour. Tiga: 1.81 million kilometers per hour.
Douluo Star fell briefly silent at those figures. How long would it take them to circle the planet at that speed?
Bai He, reputed to be the fastest person on Douluo Continent, quietly turned aside so his granddaughter Bai Chenxiang could not see his face.
Tiga drew closer and closer.
Suranos glanced back and fired ring-shaped rays from his eyes. Crimson beams shot straight at Tiga's face.
At over two hundred kilometers per second, Bi Ji could not react in time, even with her reflexes greatly enhanced by controlling Tiga. The blast sent him flying.
After landing the hit, Suranos did not stop to attack again. He turned and kept fleeing.
Bi Ji recovered and immediately gave chase, soon closing in once more.
Suranos tried the same trick, firing another ring-shaped ray at Tiga. This time Tiga was ready. He dodged, and the beam grazed past his body.
Then Tiga fired a Rampert Bolt from his right hand, striking Suranos.
Suranos hurtled toward the nearby moon.
A thunderous crash erupted. A vast circular crater burst open on the lunar surface, spraying rock and dust into the sky as the ground shook violently.
Before Suranos could struggle upright, Bi Ji willed Tiga back into the balanced, stable Multi Type. He crossed his arms before his chest, gathering dazzling white light as the finishing move, Zeperion Beam, took shape.
Perhaps because she so rarely had the chance to experience this,
Bi Ji poured a full third of her energy into the attack.
The searing white beam slammed into Suranos. He let out one last agonized howl before his massive body exploded in the glare, crumbling into black ash that scattered through the void.
It left an enormous pit on the moon, with canyon-like cracks spreading across its surface.
Once Suranos's death was confirmed,
cheers erupted across Douluo Star. Through the Sky Curtain, shouts, sobs, and laughter carried to every corner of the planet. The whole continent came alive again.
Seven female students from Skywater Academy clung to one another in excitement. They squeezed together so tightly that their soft bosoms were flattened, but none of them cared. They cheered because the continent had escaped destruction.
Happiest of all were the Soul Beasts over a hundred thousand years old in the Star Dou Great Forest.
First the Silver Dragon King, and now Bi Ji as Tiga. They were on top of the world. They would make humanity understand whose territory Douluo Star was.
Who really ruled Douluo Star.
The Ice Empress threw her arms around the Snow Empress.
"We won! We won!"
Just as everyone reveled in victory, a cold voice cut through the noise and reached every ear.
"Hey. Where do you think you're going?"
Everyone turned toward the voice. Bibi Dong stood in the path of Vampire, Tang Zhen, and the other two Titled Douluo who had betrayed the Clear Sky Sect.
Everyone came to their senses.
The big one was dealt with. They had almost forgotten these four smaller threats.
No one bothered with any code of honor now.
They surged forward together and gave the four a righteous beating.
Tang Chen and the others wanted to plead for them, but when they met the icy gazes of Qian Daoliu, Di Tian, the Snow Empress, and the rest, the words died in their throats.
The Clear Sky Sect might believe in asserting its dominance,
but trying to impose their will now would be suicide.
These people might even wipe out the five remaining members of the Clear Sky Sect.
Forget it. Let it go.
At least Tang Xiao and two others were still alive.
The Clear Sky Sect still had five Titled Douluo. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan could not compare.
But Vampire was powerful indeed. Even surrounded by so many formidable fighters, Vampire escaped.
While everyone joined forces to hunt down the traitors, the Sky Curtain remained active.
Just as Bi Ji prepared to return to Douluo Star, an immense humanoid figure of light appeared among the stars. It was so vast that the moon looked like a glass marble beside it.
When the dazzling glow faded, a Tiga who seemed both real and illusory appeared before Bi Ji.
People on Douluo Star discovered that they could see Tiga's enormous spectral form among the stars even without looking at the Sky Curtain.
Bi Ji's heart stirred. She spoke softly, her voice filled with awe and gratitude.
"Are you Tiga?"
Tiga gave a slight nod. His voice was gentle and resonant.
"Yes. This is a projection of a fragment of my consciousness."
Bi Ji bowed slightly and thanked him sincerely.
"Thank you for giving me the power to protect this continent."
Tiga shook his head gently and looked at her with warmth.
"I didn't give you that power. The light within you resonated with my stone statue."
"You have great potential. Follow the path of light. Perhaps one day, you too will become an apostle of my Lord, as I have."
"The path of light? An apostle?"
Doubt flickered in Bi Ji's eyes. She hesitated, then chose to be honest.
"You can tell I'm not human, can't you?"
Her words spread across Douluo Continent through the Sky Curtain, sending shock waves through the land.
Bi Ji's revelation caused an uproar across Douluo Continent.
"What? Bishop Bi Ji isn't human?"
"Then what is she?"
"Obviously, she must be a god! Bishop Bi Ji is so kind and beautiful. She has to be a god descended to earth."
The Sky Curtain soon supplied the answer.
Tiga nodded slightly. "Yes."
Bi Ji continued, "On my planet, I am a Soul Beast."
She briefly explained the relationship between humans and Soul Beasts on Douluo Continent. Since their beginnings, the two sides had fought each other over resources, methods of cultivation, and more.
When she finished, Bi Ji's eyes were full of apprehension. "We Soul Beasts aren't even allowed to become gods. Can I really become an apostle of the Light God? Besides, I'm still so weak."
Clearly, in Bi Ji's eyes, an apostle of the Light God stood far above the gods of the Douluo Divine Realm.
Everyone was still reeling from the revelation that Bi Ji was a Soul Beast when Tiga's next words eclipsed even that shock.
"Strength doesn't matter. My Lord doesn't care about that! Nor does birth."
"I was born in darkness."
