Douluo Star is home to humans who cultivate Martial Souls, Soul Power, and soul rings, alongside Soul Beasts that can cultivate for hundreds of thousands of years. Its regions include Douluo Continent, Sun Moon Continent, the Star Dou Great Forest, the Far North, and extensive oceans. The Sky Curtain's revelations teach many inhabitants that their familiar continent is only part of a planet containing other lands and powerful beings 1 2 11 12.
The Sky Curtain depicts Ōtsutsuki Kaguya and Isshiki arriving 100,000 years earlier, when Douluo Star had no Martial Souls, Soul Masters, or Soul Power. A God Tree planted on the planet drains life from its surroundings. A later, altered God Tree absorbs Chakra instead; after tectonic movement buries it, viewers learn why Soul Power rather than Chakra became the world's prevailing cultivation system 44 49 50.
Su He places the Sky Curtain over the entire planet to attract faith through broadcasts, challenges, and warnings of world-destroying threats.
